Isabella Giles 4/1
Fascinating little fillies group 3 this one
Happy romance comes here with the form in the book but I would have strong reservations about the 7f on soft ground, can see her stamina being tested to the limit
Pomelo was very impressive on debut winning as she liked but this is a big step up in class and on this ground I’d have reservations about backing a horse who has never been truly asked for an effort and the form of her debut hasn’t been franked
So i came down on Isabella Giles who on both breeding (by a dewhurst/Lockinge winner out of a dubawi mare) and visuals (stayed on strong over 6f last time) looks a very good chance to improve for the 7f
The ground should also be no problem
At 4/1 seems the value option given the doubts about the two at the top of the market
August 29, 2020 at 10:02 #1499135It looks a very decent little race FF. Pomelo comes into the “could be anything” catagory
after her bloodless win at Newbury, but I agree with you that she still has it all to prove.
I take a different tack on Happy Romance though, I get the impression that
she will improve for the step up to 7f. I could be wrong, and if she has stamina limitations
they will surely be found out on this testing ground. I’m hopeful that she will go well, I
think she’s a bit of class. I got her this morning at 100/30 and I think that’s pretty decent
value. Good luck with Isabella Giles
Happy Romance 100/30
August 29, 2020 at 11:12 #1499143Happy romance pulled out
My 4/1 pays about 11/4 now after the rule 4
August 29, 2020 at 13:53 #1499163Very nicely done FF
August 29, 2020 at 13:53 #1499164Wd FF
August 29, 2020 at 13:55 #1499166Thanks guys

The fav pomelo pulled her chance away in the first furlong so I was hopeful turning in I was on the winner
Certainly wasn’t expecting her to win that easily though
As I hoped her 6f form was a bonus and she has improved for the step up to 7 as her breeding suggested she would
August 29, 2020 at 15:53 #1499186I don’t know how much of a race that was FF, but that was a very easy winner for you, well done.
I think that’s a horse to keep note of, despite the question marks over the race.
August 29, 2020 at 18:57 #1499247yeah you’d be fairly windy about the strength of the form going forward in terms of winning group 1s
But she’s clearly useful and one to keep an eye on
