I think the ground will be around the good to soft mark. It was officially soft on Friday, its dry from now until the race but there may have been some rain earlier today.
Anyway, Godolphin send two over to Germany, the race that Rebel’s Romance won on the way to a thrilling victory at the Breeders Cup.
I don’t think they are bringing anything near the quality of that one though in SISKANY and LIVE YOUR DREAM albeit they bring in some nice pieces of form.
Their appearance has opened up the betting a bit and I’m picking out STRAIGHT to fulfill the promise of his earlier exploits. He went off fav for the German Derby but didn’t look like he stayed. He then ran a stinker in Ace Impact’s warm up race for the Arc. He may have just not been right at the time because his last run was a lot more encouraging when 3rd behind Zagrey in the Grosser Preis Von Baden.
Cologne is where he made his presence known when scooting up in a derby trial, so he can appreciate coming back to this course at least.

    STRAIGHT 6/1

    1111221 – 132
    India gets my shout.
    On third consecutive jockey change.
Demoted to second last time out. But a clear winner who’d have kept race in uk and Ireland.
Rene Piechulek 3 wins from 5 rides in last fortnight.
The horse’s record of consistency impressive. Not out of the places in last two campaigns.
Finished ahead of nashwa in France.
Placed and won at Saint Cloud and Lonchamp.
Not as good this time round as last.
Hence each way at the forecast prices.

    India win
I’m cashing out my each way bet and except for when I believe I can get a big edge by an each way bet I’ll just go win.
That gives me a free win bet on straight.
I’ve just decided I’m done with each way betting because of the shocking books the layers are running.
If I can land forecasts and tricasts instead I’ll be better for it and the wicked wicked bookies worse off.

I’m also on both of them. Straight won the Union (German Derby Trial) at Cologne in very impressive fashion, coming off a suicidal pace. India seems to be the talking horse in Germany after beating Mqse De Sevigne (level weights) in a G3 at Longchamp and then finishing third behind Above The Curve and her in a G2 at Saint Cloud. Her disqualification at Hoppegarten was a joke, but both german horses should be better than the Godolphin representatives. Trevenaunce has yet to win outside fillies and mares company.

I guess I’ll reverse Straight and India in a forecast.

With Hollie Doyle on the board already this afternoon, I’ll try Trevaunance with the step up in trip perhaps to suit.
Paddy Power haven’t bothered to price it up which is pretty poor considering it’s a Group 1, but boylesports were offering an OK price.

Well done winners…… What a nice performance, but also a good run from Trevenaunce from the front over 12f.

Well done Sam, Ruby and FF :good:
No prizes for guessing who the commentator was on 😆 but to give him his due he praised the winner.

Thanks greenasgrass. Well done chivers for starting the thread.
My woodbine thread from last weekend ended up in the dlaps I’m not sure why.
So you all likely missed the escapologist winning bet last night at Churchill downs as I stuck it in there where I’ll put all bets across the pond until it returns to the big races….
Yes but I love his commentary. Honest bias.
Lovely winner and I’m so glad I didn’t do him each way.

Thanks for starting the thread wouldn’t have even realised the race was on

India had the best piece of form beating mqse de sevigne who has won 2 group 1s since 7s was an insulting price

    Well done all backers :good:
