    Back to – 7.5

    Put 0.5pt EW on
Topofthegame at 8s for Lanzarote and
On the Road at 14s for Warwick Classic – he only carried my money as far as the 4th in Welsh GN but will give him another go

    That’ll do for today

-9 after a 0.5pt EW losing bet on Fine Rightly in the Peter Marsh
Hope I can get back on track tomorrow i the Kinloch Brae with American Tom, a horse I really liked the look of last year. He gets 8lb from A Toi Phil and if he stays the extra 4f, has a great chance. Woodland Opera is a nice horse but Jessie said he doesn’t stay 2m4f on soft/heavy so he’s there for a spin and some place money.

I guess American Tom doesn’t stay 2m4f on heavy either.

No bets for a while so I’ve put half a point on a Cloudy Dream/Politologue double today just for interest, putting my faith in race fitness.

-14.5…duo beaten by very worthy winners

Grand Nat Trial Haydock Silsol 20s 5pts win

Win only for a change. I’m going to give up EW betting for Lent…how long will that last…this race might cut up and the 3 places look more attractive…

Put my 50p on to watch the NH chase

    Sizing Tennessee 8-1 win

Has had plenty of practice round these fences, decent jockey up, OK on the ground.

Back to -12 after that fine performance from Footpad (even that one howler of a mistake didn’t unbalance him which I think is the mark of a good horse) and the EW return from Mengli Khan.

Working this afternoon till late and won’t get to see the racing though might be able to sneak off and watch the QMCC.
Being a Mullins fan I have
    Next Destination 4-1 1pt win
Giraffe Legs Douvan 7-2 1pt win

I didn’t put the rest of my Cheltenham bets on here, which is probably just as well. On the plus side there were quite a few horses I fancied but didn’t back that ran badly or fell over. That has been the dubious highlight of my betting (but not viewing- I’m not that callous) week.

As someone (possibly Scarlett O’Hara?) once said, Tomorrow is another day.
    With that in mind:

-16, my Pot Luck thread kind of having gone to pot. Bob Ford hardly went a yard and he can win without me tomorrow.

Looking forward to some good racing at Fairyhouse. Ryanair Gold Cup Novices probably too soon in his fencing career for my only selection tomorrow but I like the horse and don’t want him let him go unbacked:

lol Grass with the Bob Ford comment, much the same as my thinking tomorrow with Henri Parry Morgan.

Haven’t bet much lately but a mare I like is running at Cheltenham tomorrow. Thanks for tea travelled and jumped fairly abysmally LTO but it was the tail end of her season on ground she hates. She’s had a rest and should get her ground tomorrow. She ran well after a break last year running Baily Moon (who had JJ Slevin’s 5lb claim) close over 3m and I’m hoping she’ll be fit enough to get up the hill tomorrow.

    4.25 Chel Thanks for Tea 2pts win 10-1 b365

Well the mare didn’t get a run yesterday as race abandoned but hopefully she will be nicely tuned up for next time and I will back her if she gets her ground.

More good ground horses I’m keen on out at Ayr tomorrow:

    2.20 Braqueur d’Or 2pts EW 16s PP
    3.30 Peregrine Run 2pts win 7/2 b365

And given that he also has form on good ground and I’m going to back him till he jolly well wins:
    4.05 Silsol 2pts EW 25s b265
