I don’t think he’ll care for the ground but Broome should stay and front running on the fresh strip might be hard for everyone to pass. Trained for this all year too.

    P/l -14.5

Was getting quite excited about my double but knew my fate when Bubble Gift moseyed out of the stalls and then they went no pace.

I have the day off in lieu of working last weekend and the weather is rubbish enough to make me not feel guilty about not doing stuff outside, so cake baking and race watching it is! Paso Doble is a nice looking horse and keen to see what he can do after a summer’s growth.

Geordie des Champs fell out the wrong side of bed, eventually got going and jumped quite well but couldn’t make up the deficit, made a hash of the second last and that was that.
Paso Doble dragged his hindlegs through a couple and needs a fence.
    Elham Valley was a NR.

Red Risk made a bit of a hash of the last and otherwise would have finished closer. Trainer said he would come on for it too so maybe worth backing again.

A good head to head at Kempton today and I’d have Sceau Royal a bit closer in the betting to Silver Streak. Both get their ground and go well fresh and both trainers in good form (King already on the board today) so it should be a decent match.

What a good little horse. Hopefully Silver Streak will regain his best form next time:

Williams was philosophical in defeat, saying: “He was beaten by a very good horse and we have so much respect for the winner and Alan’s horses are in very good form. There are no excuses.

“We will go to the Fighting Fifth (at Newcastle) now. Some days you are not disappointed about getting beaten as you get beaten by the right horse and he is not going to win them all. The winner is a very good horse.

I like Evan Williams anyway and it’s always good to see connections of a losing horse graciously complimenting the winner.

The sun is shining (for now) and I’m going racing for the first time in ages! Off to Down Royal to bet Stuart Crawford’s M+S horses. I fancy Champ de Gane to beat the Gordy hotpot in the bumper and I’m keen to see what he can do with Homme d’Un Soir as well. I see the Shark has Exchange Rate now, might have a tickle ew to see of he can repeat the Skyace dose and improve a Mullins castoff ;-)

    Happy racing jumps fans!
