I can’t even remember if I made a new thread at the start of the summer but can’t find one but anyway, will start again. Never really got into the summer jumps this year and after Logician disappeared off the scene I kind of lost interest in the Flat a bit and haven’t had a bet in ages.
Listowel has tempted me back, it’s a good week’s racing. Small stakes as usual to get me back in the swing.
Feigh in the first just to get started. I like two in the mares’ race and have aftertimed the prices quite badly. Oh well. I’m interested in Gevrey in the novice chase. I haven’t backed him but will be watching carefully with a view to backing him when he goes over a longer trip. Could be a nice horse for the future. Easy Game in a tiny field over this distance has a decent chance if it doesn’t rain too much.

Aghh hard luck I hate when you decide to be good and confine yourself to one selection and it’s your second choice that wins. Winner is a lovely horse and only 4yo; lots to look forward to and looks to have the physique to jump a fence too. Palm Beach never went a yard, hurdled badly and was scrubbed along virtually the whole way. Off my Christmas card list for good now. At least when ones you have nearly given up following do properly craply, it makes the final dumping a bit easier.

Faroutis a nice looking horse but a bit short to back on his own so have doubled him with the bonkers Magic Daze in hopes fences can back her off a bit. Got my wee pal Dromore Lad in the 3m handicap hurdle, after a well deserved break- he’s not very big, so hopefully the smaller obstacles can help.
