WOODHOUSE has an obvious chance in this race and its no surprise he is short proce favourite. She was 3rd on debut, the 2nd has won since and the 4th was a short head 2nd since so the form looks strong and improvement looks certain on 2nd run. Also Stoute won this race with a filly who was 3rd on debut then won this on her 2nd start. Must have a string chance and no surprise if ahe wins. These odds make no appeal to this team however and Stoute is so so last 14 days with 3 wins from 26 runners. He is only 2 wins from 25 2yo runs from leicester the last 5 years.
Kingsman has had 1 winner from 9 runners at leicester.AMBER ISLAND looks poor. Appleby usually has them rrwdy 1st time up amd she wasnt good enough, she showed zero improvememt on 2nd run. Gets handicap mark after this and Leicester is one of the worst 2yo tracks for appleby over the last 5 years. Unlikely to even place.
TURAATH is trained by C Hills. His form looks a bit iffy to me at present though he did have a winner at Haydock the other day. He is 0/3 with his 2yos in september. She has an entry in the Rockfel stakes group 2. Her sire Oasis Dream was beaten on his 1st 2 runs as a 2yo and her mother was also beaten on 2yo debut for barry hills (2nd).
She may need this 1st run and looks vulnerable today.PRINCESS BRIDE – Saeed Bin Suroor has always had a very strong record with his 2yos at Leicester and can certainly get them ready 1st time up.
I will be annoyed if she wins as I was strongly considering backing her ew at 12/1.
Ultimately the sire stats of Shamardal put me off. His offspring as 2yos racing over 7f at leicester have won just 1 race from 23. If any man can get a shamardal 2yo to win over 7f its Bin Suroor so dont rule her out but the team are on a watching brief.FLEET STREET- Gosden normally leaves a lot to work on and his 2yos improve greatly for a run.
SUNSET KISS is likely to need further.
HESSA, HIGHFLYING BIRD and LYRICI make zero appeal here.
Sung to the tune of Jesus Christ suoerstar:
CHOSEN STAR SUPERSTAR
FLYING ROUND LEICESTER
AND SHE WINS BY FARThe daughter of Dubawi. The Dubawi offspring adore Leicester. 99 runs here have produced 24 wins and 23 places.
With 2yos over todays 7f at Leicester its 17 runs, 4 wins and 6 places.
Dubawi won all 3 races as a 2yo. The dam of CHOSEN STAR was also unbeaten as a 2yo winning twice.
On pedigree CHOSEN STAR is likely to go very close here.
Michael Bell can ready them to win 1st time up and Daniel ‘ The Dominator’ Tudhope is booked.
A big run looks certain today and at these odds the team cannot get enough of her.
THE CHAMPAGNES ON ICE
September 10, 2019 at 14:22 #1453300Never heard Dan Tudhope referred to as ‘The Dominator’ before – perhaps by his other half after dark but otherwise…
September 10, 2019 at 14:26 #1453301Well that race didnt go to plan. The first 2 home I gave no chance to and Daniel was more ****head than dominator there (jokes, nothing wrong with ride and horse clearly needs time).
Sadly I have had to put my planned response to a brilliant win on hold;
HAVE WE JUST SEEN THE NEW ENABLE?
Looked more disabled than Enabled to me
(sorry snowflakes its just a joke).
September 10, 2019 at 14:37 #1453302My apologies to Daniel Tudhope I see there was a late jockey change and Sean Leveybwas riding.
The team are almost certain that had The Dominator been riding that would have been the difference between last and first place.
September 19, 2019 at 17:44 #14589936 15 Southwell
ew EVORA KNIGHTS 50/1 bet365
A very weak looking 2yo maiden.
September 19, 2019 at 18:01 #1458995Dont see many M easterby 2yos winning 1st time up but plenty of speed in pedigree and should handle the surface and looks the likliest winner on pedigree.
Its a guess as to how ready the Equiano colt will be but a lot of the rivals may not be so keen on winning or have the right pedigree for this surface so it could well be a very rare 2yo southwell winner for my very good friend Mr Easterby. I thought he looked worth a go at the odds in a horrific fibresand maiden.
