It was actually a lovely sunny autumnal October day at the Sunbury venue and I was particularly taken with a then hitherto unraced 3yo called Captain Marvellous in the paddock.
He ran a cracker for one so inexperienced there and has since return to win half the track, but at odds on.
I’m definitely as high as a kite but, as always, only on my own adrenalin, no foreign substances involved.
If I can’t beat a bloke who’s already conceded defeat and a tree killer, there will be something pretty far wrong – bring it on!
