February 19, 2008 at 15:33 #144712The way it ran probably Jonjo and Nicky said they didn’t wan’t it.
I think if it was kept light hearted it would be good to hear peoples opinions on why people think some horses end up at Nicky Henderson’s and in this case David Pipe…….it’s nothing to do with JP’s relationship with Jonjo which is cast in stone…………anyone any ideas?

Personally I think it’s common sense to have a spread of trainers. ‘Don’t put your eggs in one basket’ – if you have your horses with one trainer and there is a virus – you’ve had it. Can’t see the problem. I wonder if he is planning to send any to Ditcheat? And why not?
February 20, 2008 at 12:03 #144968He’s had horses all over the place for years so why not at Pipe’s?
February 20, 2008 at 12:30 #144986Can I turn that question around, Stan? …..and ask why he hasn’t had runners with the Pipe yard until now?
Does he feel happier with David at the helm rather than Martin?
February 20, 2008 at 13:19 #145014Not necessarily a shut-down but Pipe’s stable ran terribly at the Paddy Power meeting last Novemebr and also at Cheltenham a couple of years ago.
February 20, 2008 at 13:35 #145019The only reason I can see why JP has sent a horse to the Pipes is because he is lining up some monster punt in a Newton Abbot Seller

JP should get about 1/2 by the time old man Pipe has had his balls on it
February 20, 2008 at 14:00 #145029Excuse me for asking guys but exactly what virus are we talking about here? Is it the one invented on this forum becauese I have never hread it talked about anywhere else?…has there been some report of this in the Racing Post I missed? was it on the telly in the uk? pray tell I am really intersted to know
February 20, 2008 at 14:16 #145033Fist for Virus read: An excuse thats better than sl*ggin your best buddy’s training methods? Or shall we just conclude he’s useless…
February 20, 2008 at 16:16 #145066Conclude what you like mate……….I backed two winners out of three bets from the yard last week how did you do
February 20, 2008 at 16:34 #145077Mate stop!!! I’ll send you a short Pm and then you can get off my back
February 20, 2008 at 16:56 #145083Nothing wrong with Jonjo – JP’s an awful judge of equine talent. I read in The Sun’s interview with Clive Smith on Saturday that JP was due to buy Kauto Star in France.
Unfortunately, Smith outbid McManus, who decided to purchase some donkey that hasn’t won a race since.
Amazing that Smith, in such a short space of time, has acquired the respective favourites for both the Queen Mother and Gold Cup. Jim Lewis had Best Mate, Edredon Bleu and Impek. McManus, for all of his financial clout, has nowt.
February 20, 2008 at 17:16 #145088Well now you know mate and I know….. let’s just leave the rest to their own thoughts…… I have nothing else to say on the subject
February 20, 2008 at 18:29 #145105I’ve noticed Jonjo has a well-backed novice hurdle winner a few days before the Cheltenham festival each year. I will investigater further. Must do it so the lads going to Cheltenham have a few quid to play with.
