how could i dissagree with Seven towers appraisal
Any man who has George Jones as his avatar immediately commands respect.
November 21, 2011 at 01:31 #378933Is there not an ignore function on this forum?
November 21, 2011 at 02:40 #378936‘Edna Bolger’, the cross country queen!
I’ve got tears in my eyes.

It’s easy to take a step back from this place before you start annoying people – and it’s something, sadly, Pinza never did. For someone as intelligent as him, he had a lack of awareness that was child-like; an interesting character alright.
I’m not even sure if it was his
passion
for racing that was his downfall, as much as enjoying the odd bone a bit too much; he just would not give it up.
All said and done, in the context of a forum on the internet and all it can provide, his words will be missed.
November 21, 2011 at 08:13 #378941I thought this forum was about intelligent debate?
I have been increasingly fed up with it myself, especially asides to the fact I am not "one of the betting boys". I don’t like the attitude of some on here & I doubt I will post on here again.November 21, 2011 at 09:12 #378947Just saw this.
I only just got here but cant agree with that at all.
November 21, 2011 at 09:52 #378950Well perhaps you better read Pinza’s bullying before passing judgement then?
November 21, 2011 at 10:41 #378957Just a brief word of support for Corm. It is the job of the moderator to ensure that excesses are controlled. This may be excessively bad language or excessively agressive posting but it also involves ensuring that one poster doesn’t post too excessively. Many forums are dominated by a very small number of individuals and that stifles healthy debate better than anything.
Perhaps a daily posting limit would be the best way of ensuring any one poster doesn’t dominate the forum?
Maybe Corm could ask the BHA to commission a study to establish an appropriate limit?
November 21, 2011 at 11:01 #378963Corm , some mixed views here , how about a yellow card , suspension and then reinstatement as a possibility ,
This bannage is very harsh , I think the whip thing has taught us all lessons , and if your honest , you found yourself in a difficult position as well
Lets have him back at some point please

I agree, a week in the sin bin as a first caution seems less arbitrary than this ‘I don’t like how you said that, so you are outta here’ mentality.
I like Pinza’s impassioned debating style, it stimulates the debate rather than taking from it.November 21, 2011 at 16:50 #378993How about corm steps down and Pinza returns as forum moderator?
Simple enough, but in reality, ridiculous. When I signed up to TRF I accepted the terms and conditions. Abuse the rules and off you go, eventually.
What is often forgotten in these circumstances is the moderator will have given several warnings and chances to an errant poster which ultimately will have gone unheeded. So many posters seem to feel that their anomymity gives them special powers on the internet and carte blanche to bully and insult whilst hiding behind their nom de plume.
I don’t know wether the recent addition of advertising and all the commercialisation on TRF has led to any form of renumeration for moderators but I wouldnt do it for any money as it often appears a thankless task.
On the subject of former posters being banned but returning under a new name surely that is the way forward for Pinza if he can tone his act down. Its worked (almost) for The Ante Post King.
If long rambling posts are not an offence my only crimes are against grammer!

I like Pinza’s impassioned debating style, it stimulates the debate rather than taking from it.Wait… Why did you agree with Racing Daily when I made the point before he did?
Personally, I would’ve gone for a suspension before striking with the banhammer
Is it because I’m not one of the "old boys"?
Disgraceful
November 21, 2011 at 18:18 #379014I’m a thick skinned individual and the reason I didn’t post for a few months had nothing to do with Pinza
For one so thick skinned………..Bit touchy aren’t we?
November 21, 2011 at 18:33 #379017Oh come on.
One would have to be utterly devoid of emotion to not be crushed by this spiteful act of social exclusion!
