Yes it’s back again and how would racing survive without another round of The Racing League. It’s a glamorous journey around some of our greatest racecourses, with top class horses and big name jockeys.
Sorry, what’s that – oh, it’s Yarmouth this week. And Buick and Murphy are required elsewhere. Never mind, there’ll be a great team of presenters on ITV4. Pardon, did you say Megan Nicholls is fronting the show.
Oh well, let’s move on, it’s time to pick a team. And there are certainly some interesting choices. Team Ireland has horses running at Yarmouth trained by those well known sons of Galway, Gary Moore, Jim Boyle, George Boughey and Ollie Sangster.
Team Scotland have the assistance of several refugees from the Highlands and Islands, including James Owen, Heather Main, Julie Camacho and William Knight.
But at least one ancient Racing League tradition has been kept going – Saffie Osborne has five rides for Team West and Wales. She must get on well with the team manager, Jamie Osborne.
Are we excited? Not really, it just won’t be the same without Thommo doing the commentaries, will it.

turning up, paying top whack only to be told that the horses are the equivalent to Bristol Rovers and Halifax Town
I’m sure they will be hookedCharles Darwin to conquer the World
July 24, 2025 at 05:17 #1736628If you own a very average flat horse and you’ve got a slightly twisting trainer then it’s a great way to bag some very decent prize money … Jamie Osbourne..cough

…all you need is CASHJuly 24, 2025 at 17:49 #1736650Oh, you gotta love the East: Shoemark, Shepherd and Fellowes. No room for controversy there, right?

July 25, 2025 at 12:14 #1736680Chapman should surely have played his joker in the 6.40 where he had the first and second fav.
July 25, 2025 at 12:27 #1736681I thought Chapman is the joker, Yeats.
Although maybe he’s just a (very bad) joke.
