    Peter Scudamore for God’s sake!

I am utterly speechless. (Sadly this tends to be Scudamore’s default position as well which is not ideal for radio).

I cannot for the life of me fathom the process that reckons the guy who went ‘errrrm…’ and ‘aaaaahh…’ for years on BBC One is suddenly the ideal choice for BBC radio.

Yeah. Even Inverdale and Lysaght are ignoring him.

I’m ashamed to say it but I used to quite like Peter Scudamore when he was on the BBC TV racing, providing the pre-race comments with Richard Pitman for jumps meetings.

He could be a bit tongue-tied at times but I would still far rather listen to him than Graham Cunningham and Mick Fitzgerald.

I found his serious and earnest approach quite endearing.

Going to the other extreme, I would be interested to know how Tommo is getting on for Radio 5 Live at Cheltenham. No doubt he has enlivened proceedings with his ebullience.

I think scu is brilliant in my opinion. Yes he can stutter and can be tongue tied, but I think he is one of the most knowledgeable pundits in racing. 8 times champion jump jockey was involved with twiston-davis for years, was a tv pundit for years, has a newspaper column, father and sons are trainers/jockeys, last few years been with lucinda russell. There isn’t much about national hunt racing or racing in general that he doesn’t know about.

p.s his autobiography is very good
