Although I want the teenage sensation to win I put Van Gerwen as slight favourite on experience. Been there, Done it and worn the T-shirt. Littler has only been there.
Another amazing performance for someone so young to reach the final, whatever the outcome. And I thought Deller was young when he won the BDO in 1983.

January 3, 2025 at 22:25 #1717436January 4, 2025 at 11:19 #1717463I’m not overly a fan of Littler and certainly find the sensationalism grinding
but credit where its due he has been superb and defies logic to walk into a sport and do what he has doneCharles Darwin to conquer the World
January 4, 2025 at 17:35 #1717530Absolutely agree, it was purely a dig at the Sky hype machine. I hope he has good people around him because there will be a lot of sharks who smell money.
He’s been phenomenal for darts in little over a year. The sport was on the up anyway but he’s propelled it even higher and will continue to do so.
He made van Gerwen, who averaged a ton let’s not forget, look ordinary last night. Van Gerwen was surprisingly poor early on and that is at least in part due to the pressure Littler put on him. It was a level game from 4-0 onwards but that’s all Littler needed.
He’s already capable of playing at a level that we’ve perhaps only seen from a prime Taylor and a prime van Gerwen. I hope Humphries continues to push on because I believe he’s capable of taking on Littler when playing his best and now they are ranked first and second, that generally keeps them apart until finals. Could be a cracking rivalry.
March 1, 2025 at 18:27 #1721642The UK Open has as ever been good fun so far.
Beau Greaves has shown she belongs at the top table after winning three matches in the afternoon and then pushing Luke Humphries most of the way in the fourth round. Three ton plus checkouts in the first four legs is seriously impressive. I hope this helps her to realise how good she is because I get the feeling she’s inclined to underplay her own ability.
March 1, 2025 at 22:49 #1721665Agree. To some extent I can understand Greaves’s reluctance to play against male players but she is far better than Sherrock. Maybe she needs to believe in herself a bit more.
March 1, 2025 at 23:14 #1721667Yes I think she has, until now at least, preferred to be a big fish in a small pond.
She is only 21 though, with the rise of Littler it’s easy to forget that she’s a baby in darting terms.
She comes across very well in her interviews, calm and level headed beyond her years.
Playing regularly on the main circuit I think she could easily establish herself on the top 32, perhaps even 16 with consistent performance.
March 31, 2025 at 18:41 #1725243Interesting comments from Vincent Van Der Voort. He says some of the players in the Premier League are “Luke Littler Fan Boys”.
I think he has a point. Littler is clearly brilliant at what he does but both Aspinall and Bunting behave as if they are already beaten before they have thrown a dart.
