For all you jump fanatics ( like me! ) the Racing Post is a must tomorrow.
September 9, 2008 at 11:55 #180162Thanks Blue. It should make terrific reading.
September 9, 2008 at 13:44 #180179I can’t get the racing post here but I am sure you guys will have lots to say. Should be very interesting. I wonder if part 1 will be "I will never tell Ruby what to do again"
September 9, 2008 at 14:43 #180191It’s a good read and the gist is Nicholls wants to be champion trainer in both Britain an Ireland. Also, Pierre Lunaire is fancied for the CH and was unlucky to be beaten by Binocular!
I will try and post some more detail later

Yer man’s obviously an idiot, Fists.

September 9, 2008 at 21:12 #180237A good read right enough and too much info to put on here. He produced a brochure for his open day that was cancelled due to the weather and according to the RP a donation will be made to the injured jockeys fund for every copy sold. Anyone interested can get a copy from this link :
September 9, 2008 at 21:28 #180240having had such a depressing lousy summer weather wise thank goodness we’ve got our jumping to look forward to!

That brochure has some fine photographs in.
September 10, 2008 at 00:57 #180268You never miss a chance to sell your wares, mullychops.Well done
September 10, 2008 at 09:11 #180278I am not selling anything. It’s Paul Nicholls who is selling the brochure.
September 10, 2008 at 09:23 #180279I was very surprised that 6’s was on offer for Nicholls to be top Irish trainer (unsurprisingly that didn’t last long).
He could easily mop up a fair wedge of the good prizes on offer over there.Alan King has produced a brochure for his horses also (same price).

I assume all of this means there is no prospect of a ‘stable tour’ supplement for these two handlers like last season, then?
September 10, 2008 at 10:09 #180293I did wonder about that myself as they would presumably just replicate what would be in the brochure.
September 10, 2008 at 19:21 #180370Cannot wait for the jumps to get into full swing.
The flat has been good for a change this year but nothing beats a day out in the field seeing National Hunt horses attacking a fence or leaping over a hurdle with the cold chill trying to bite you.

I think it’s the drugs he takes Colin

I did say after Kempton that we saw two ver good horses that day. They both left a very good horse looking like a tree back in third.
I was shot down in flames by a few people on that one and someone claimed Pierre Lunaire was no where as good as the Triumph Hurdle winner from the same yard (Sorry forgotten it’s name) Something "Halo"
I haven’t seen the article but Pierre Lunaire unlucky? What was the basis of that uneducated statement? Binocular beat him fair and square and was short of a gallop……won’t get me agrreing with him that’s for sure.
I think you will find Crackaway Jack could turn out to be the main danger to Binocular next season along with Sizing Europe who I still think is one helluva horse.
I wouldn’t have Pierre Lunaire on my mind for the CH.

Thanks GD I never thought it would be on their website and would only be in the actual paper.
I think there’s more than a bit of wishful thinking going on there whn he talks about Pierre Lunaire being a CH horse. My bet is he will want further this coming season. Certainly gives me the impression he lacks just a little bit of toe to take on the best in the CH proper.
I was hoping Rippling Ring would go chasing but he never indicated he would which is dissapointing. Looks a real good prospect.
Master Minded has improved loads? God help the opposition but I won’t be totally convinced until me meets and beats Tidal Bay who looked a right horse at Chets and Aintree.
