Not really my kind of race, but I do like what I’ve seen of Pista this year.

I was going to wait at current price, but Buick is booked, so I’ll take a chance.
Pista 7’s
September 6, 2020 at 13:06 #1500126Took a wee bit more at 12’s, but not much, as it’s hardly a race I’d be going mad in, and I’m not that confident she’ll actually trap.
Pista 12’s
September 6, 2020 at 16:38 #1500164I am torn between Alpinista and Pista, but looking at Pista entries the horse has the option of running in the Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies Stakes group 3, 19 Sep at Gowran park over a distance what looks too short 9.5 furlongs. Will Pista run here is the question but I think Alpinista will probably turn up. I predict the going will be good by Thursday.
September 6, 2020 at 16:43 #1500166Yeah Mike, I’m always wary with those who have other entries, but thought it was worth a small go. No surprise at all if she’s a no show.
September 6, 2020 at 16:54 #1500169VTC I think if was her target to win a stayer group 2 I am sure her price would be shorter than 12/1, the price is lovely. I can’t see her running over 1 mile 1 1/2 furlongs when her big improvement came at longer distances. That is what is puzzling me.
September 6, 2020 at 23:16 #1500207Agree Mike, this target certainly makes more sense. It’s just the fact that the price is so good, that’s what’s worrying me.
September 7, 2020 at 08:55 #1500235Joseph has 5 entries in that race at Gowran and the other 4 look more fitted to that race than Pista.
Very strange entry IMO, maybe they are just rolling the dice in case it cuts up with a big weekend ahead. Either way, there is the Comer Group Irish St Ledger they could’ve entered her for. A race won by 3yos the last 2 years, one by a filly. So i’d say it’s worth chancing they go here for the “easier” race so to speak.
Joseph has 3 entered, one, Might Blue is declared to run tomorrow in Ireland. Will they just run Pista + Traisha both here?!I’d like to think Alpinista will be hard to beat in this, but Pista would rate a very good bet in my view at 12s vs 5-2.
I liked Monica Sheriff’s York run, but i think her form suggests good ground won’t be her ideal. Maybe they’ll take the chance anyway.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 8, 2020 at 12:08 #1500333So both Pista and Alpinista are both running at the 48 hour declaration, I still don’t know which one to back so I will probably sit it out.
September 8, 2020 at 12:21 #1500335Given Monica Sheriff’s best form is on softer than the ground is likely to be i’d happily price Pista shorter than her.
Believe in Love i guess could be anything, but winning soft ground handicaps with 5pd claimers etc is a different kettle of fish to this IMO.
I find it hard to separate the two myself Mike, but at the price, i think Pista has more scope to shorten again, especially now we have a dead 8.
I don’t rate Snow’s Irish form (watch her win now) and Vivionn for all she is a decent filly has her level.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 8, 2020 at 13:13 #1500339Jack I waiting to see what odds other bookies give, only WH is offering prices. Maybe I will do a rare R Forecast on the two of them. With Monica S and I believe love I don’t think the going will be right for them as you pointed out with their best results are with give in the ground. With dry weather forecast I expect the going to be good by Thursday.
September 8, 2020 at 22:01 #1500403Gonna join you on Pista 8/1 e/w
Eye catching jockey booking and a very interesting unexposed runner
September 9, 2020 at 03:59 #1500424I’ve always liked Vivionn, and like Stouties older distaffs generally.
Hoping lto has brought her along nicely and the additional distance can eke some improvement out.
Even though she’s a Dubawi, I do think a sounder surface will suit better, and she has won at Donny before. Her last win actually, albeit in a much lower grade.
I do like the filly who beat her last time, and think 2nd was a really nice run.
Prescotts filly is feared of course, but 8/1 Viv is a nice e/w working man’s price.
Vivionn 8s e/w, Viv / Alpanista RFC.
BUY THE SUN

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 9, 2020 at 16:30 #1500494Only 7 runners now that means unfortunately
September 9, 2020 at 16:43 #1500496I believe in love as low as 6/4 now and the best price on pista is now 11/2. WD people who took 12/1 ante post on pista.
The dreaded rule 4 for anybody who took a price after the 48 hour Decs before the new market was formed. 30p reduction, ouch.
September 9, 2020 at 16:45 #1500497Like Siskin this race is working out nicely for me antepost-wise, hopefully unlike Siskin this one might actually return something though!
