Energumene obviously the one to beat here, but there’s an outside chance he could go to Limerick instead.

Stablemates Ferny Hollow and Chacun Pour Soi are prominent in the betting, but with Ferny yet to be seen, and CPS getting in, I’ve went with another from the yard, in Blue Lord.

He’s already been out, and this looks his only target over Christmas. Can’t see him beating Energumene if he traps there, but if race cuts up as it often does, then I think he’s a cracking EW Bet

I’d have thought Bobby Blue Lord would be staying around the 2 1/2 trip with Allaho on the sidelines.

Allaho has went to the Horse and Jockey hotel Chase G2 in January the last 2 years…

I do think there’s a decent chance Energumene doesn’t go at Xmas at all. He didn’t last year and WPM has enough bullets around to keep him back for something in January, maybe across the water again.

Yeah Jack, certainly not 100% to step back, especially after Clonmel, but just thought a shade too big at 16’s

    Energumene won’t run will he?

Only 16 days after his reappearance

Suspect he will run at ascot again before going to Cheltenham

Same goes for blue lord who looks set to run in the john durkan

Ferny hollow I have a sneaking suspicion has had a setback and that’s why he’s not even got a precautionary entry in the hilly way in case energumene can’t run

Struggling to even find a guaranteed runner

I’d like to bet Chacun Pour Soi at current price, but he’s never really an ap proposition

I’ll be with Blue Lord as well VtC, and I’m hoping to see him here. I think that he’s capable of easily dealing with the potential step back in trip

Chacun Pour Soi still the one for me, but as he’s quite short, I’ll have a forecast with Gentleman De Mee

Nice race this, and surely there for the taking for Chacun Pour Soi, but I’ve went with Couer Sublime.

He would probably have won but for falling last time, and closely matched with Blue Lord on the Punchestown run

I’ve taken him 20-1, and I’m going to go back in ew 3 places

Interesting shout Mark. I’m laying stake back on Blue Lord, and plan was to put it the way of Andy Dufresne, but the more I look at Couer, think he could run well.

Definitely one to chew over for me.
