No market yet…..

No strong view really on this right now, but Ballywilliam Boy was the first to catch my eye, while Scoir Mear was much improved for his season debut last time. He’s struggling to get in, and maybe getting primed for a big run over fences, but I reckon he retains plenty of ability, and I’d definitely consider him.
If pushed right now, it would be Born Patriot. Slightly disappointing at Cheltenham a few months back, but the winner that day has put a better light on it, and I’d play him Antepost if he was decent price.
Goes without saying that this will need a proper look on the day, but hoping for an Antepost on Born Patriot
Born Patriot
January 30, 2022 at 20:56 #1580706Prices are in Bobby.
One i’ve in mind for this is Finest Evermore. She’s also entered in the mares h’cap but her mark would probably make her top weight or thereabouts depending on HHU. Also think she’s unexposed over 3m compared to dropping to 2m2. By Yeats and shaped well last time from a layoff.
If ABP shows up then we might all be in trouble but we’ll see.
She’s 20-1 holding off for now.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 30, 2022 at 22:28 #1580714Surely 0 chance mullins sends his #1 GC horse to this, to even remotely open the posibillity of something happening, is this on betfair yet, ill need to lay this for all im worth if so lol
January 31, 2022 at 14:01 #1580765Unexpected Depth at 20/1 ew 5 places is my early bet in this.

I wouldnt rule it out- he’s wanted to run him again and hurdles arguably safer than fences regarding the something happening? Haven’t seen any quotes to suggest he is or he isn’t..
If he ran he’s be very hard to beat. Put it this way he’s not entered in the Irish GC??
Ground could be the issue.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 31, 2022 at 19:34 #1580802Thats sort of my point, if he was going to run anywhere it’d be the grade 1, surely, atleast in the irish GC, hes in a small field, big field handicap, definitely more risk than reward
Straight to the GC for me
I think
January 31, 2022 at 21:21 #1580826I think that Farclas has to be bet here at 33-1 ew. He’s probably being prepped for a target in the spring, but he can still afford himself a big run in this.
I also like The Jam Man at 25-1, but I haven’t bet him as of yet
February 1, 2022 at 14:26 #1580896Plenty taken out today, so I’m going three handed in this, and I’d hope there’s a good chance that they all go.
If the price holds, I’d go max places in the JP pair again, after Final Decs
De Name Escapes Me 40’s EW 5pl
Scoir Mear 66’s EW 5pl
Unexpected Depth 20’sFebruary 2, 2022 at 21:47 #1581079Cobblers way would be a fascinating runner
2nd in the grade 1 2m6f novice hurdle a few years back
Latest exhibition won, longhouse poet, fury Road and elixir dainay in behind
Has clearly had his problems and the stable form is dodgy but I couldn’t resist a bet if he is entered
February 3, 2022 at 06:49 #1581097Had a nibble on Top Moon. He’s another with multiple engagements on the weekend. He’s also in the Pertemps race at Musselburgh, although hopefully that entry’s just a sighter for the UK handicapper with March in mind.
He’s another with a bit of place form from this weekend anyway so worth a tentative play.
February 4, 2022 at 12:31 #1581277Maze Runner at around 22-1 ew for me, and I’ll have a win bet on Rightplacerightime at 8-1
February 5, 2022 at 09:57 #1581435Had a go on Aldo the Apache. Though there’s rain due and now i’m concerned. I want to see the first few races before i pick a second.
His win at Naas hints to me at 3m being ideal for him, and possibly unlocking some more improvement.
On the face of it his last run could hint at him reaching his limit but he was from the front very far out and i think in this race he’ll be dropped in a little more. He really doesn’t have to lead as he hasn’t for any of his victories so i’m hopeful he’s been ignored in the market down to his last run.
He was 6-1 after all to win the race last time. The Naas form is pretty strong and he did have a number of these in behind.
The other i’m half considering is Good Time Jonny. Another that’s marginally week in the market but personally i loved his last run and think the step up in trip will suit again. He even ran pretty decent at Cheltenham when too far back. A J Martin is in decent form recently.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 5, 2022 at 10:22 #1581442Tough looking contest and any number with a chance:
155 Rightplacerightime
152 Aldo The Apache
152 Pour Pavore
151 Authorized Art
150 The Jam Man
150 Futurum Regem
148 Dallas Des Pictons
148 A Great ViewNot gtoing to get too heavily involved but Rightplacerightime 13/2 looks a bit of Emmet Mullins plot. Swapped abckwards and forwards between hurdles and chases, ran passably well at Haydock and won nicely over fences at Fairyhouse previously.
Aldo The Apache 18/1 has sound overall form and is the each-way selection. Decent enough effort last time and progressive before that, now stepped up in trip.
Incidently this race’s full title must be as irritating as they come, and Paddy Power set a high bar for themselves.
February 5, 2022 at 11:41 #1581461Priory Park and Unexpected Depth are my selections.
February 5, 2022 at 12:33 #1581473Dark voyager @100s for me, hasnt shown enough to win this and the trip looks to stretch him, hopefully just be ridden out the back and see what happens rather than being prominent, though, looks to be one of these races ..
February 5, 2022 at 13:16 #1581484An outright punt from me, The Jam Man
Best of luck to all
