Interestingly, O’Regan not up on any of Howard Johnson’s horses today. Stable using Renwick, Hughes and Mania.Could the latter be in line as the new first choice stable jockey?

He was missing more and more rides for the yard in recent weeks at meetings he was at, so I guess this is not too much of a surprise.

Ryan Mania wouldn’t be the most far-fetched suggestion, in as much as his commmitments to Peter Monteith don’t appear half as strong as they were over 2008-9.

Gradual ingratation towards the master of Billy Row since then? Maybe. It’s noticeable that had Howard Johnson got two into the National line-up, Mania would have ridden the second.

I think I’d presume Brian Hughes is slightly further up the pecking order. At the same time, though, I wonder if he’d want any retainer with Johnson to leave him free to maintain his pretty bountiful association with Alan Swinbank’s bumper horses, if at all practicable.

I really do think johnson/wylie made a big mistake here. I am a fan of Denis O’Regan and actually looking back the fact he lasted so long at a stable renowned for getting through jockeys speaks wonders. Fortunately for the South West he is now riding alot more at this end of the country linking up with one of our local trainers Victor Dartnall. Watch that combination.

I will be amazed if he does not win ride of the month on ATR for Autumn Red at Leicester, it was a ride to savour.

Good luck for the future Denis!

Looks like Howard Johnson is in trouble.

Graham Wylie’s IT company TSG, have just posted another financial loss.
    That’s £ 30,000,000.00 of losses to March 2010.
Currently, Graham is pumping £ 4,500,000.00 of cash for shares, per year, into this loss machine.

Backing two runners is the relentless pursuit of value. Backing each way is a shortcut to the poor house. Only 7% make a long term profit.

    Truly disgraceful.
There can be no excuse for a softly-softly approach by the BHA on this issue.
They must hand down a censure that will demonstrate that such behaviour will not be tolerated irrespective of the "standing" of anyone.
