When I looked at the scores on Friday evening, I noticed Senior Open champion Alex Cejka had comfortably made the cut on something like +3.
I thought to myself if he could have a good round and then the wind got up later on Saturday afternoon, it was not impossible he could move quite some way up the leaderboard. Rather like Sam Burns and Thriston Lawrence did.
I looked up his price on Oddschecker and noticed Betfred were offering 5,000/1 (Hills were “only” 1,500/1). I wasn’t sure if it was a mistake, so looked on Betfred’s website. Sure enough, 5,000/1 was available.
I thought “£2 each way will do no harm”. I tried to place the bet – and got knocked back! I was only allowed £1 each way.
Mr Done was obviously worried about losing £10,000!
