JUSTIN THOMAS 20/1 Ante post
A major champion and this year won players championship but form been off but return to form in Scotland which suggest a big performance coming this week
TOMMY FLEETWOOD 40/1
Loves links golf and 2nd behind Lowry 2 years ago can go one better he also play ok in Scotland this may be best chance of major
DANNY WILLETT 100/1
Won here before as a amateur this year not gone great but a return to a venue won it could inspire him
VICTOR PEREZ 225/1 Ante post
Play well in big events 9th in players championship and 4th in match play. Play ok in Scotland and should not be under estimated
MARTIN KAYMER 100/1
Only got in because Kevin Na withdrew has play here before in 2011 and fact he lucky to get in here don’t be shocked to see him go well
PADRIAG HARRINGTON 200/1
3 best performances this year 6th in Dubai
4th in PGA Championship and 18th in Scotland last week. Last winner here Darren Clarke and no reason another older play win againGood luck guys
And Raymo and BigG not forget a PGA event this week the Barbasol championship
July 13, 2021 at 21:18 #1550692Unoriginal but Rahm and Thomas are my idea of the most likely winners. Thomas now 22/1 with Hills.
McIlroy is also 22/1 with Hills but I am worried about him playing himself out of contention after the first round, as he so often does.
I like Oosthuizen and Leishman each way.
At huge prices, I might throw a little bit at Lucas Glover. He played well the last time the Open was here and was joint leader with Clarke after 36 holes, eventually finishing 12th. He had a Top 20 finish in the US Open last month and makes some appeal at 200/1 with 10 places.
July 13, 2021 at 21:28 #1550693My four for The Open e/w to 11 places;
Koepka 16/1
Spieth 16/1
Reed 33/1
Grace 50/1Good luck all.
July 14, 2021 at 07:33 #1550715For a bit of interest i done a couple…
John Rahm 15-2 ew 10 places.
Louis Oosthuizen 30-1 ew 10 places.July 14, 2021 at 13:56 #1550762Well it looks like I have a shopping list here

My Main bets are
Justin Thomas 20/1
Louis Oosthuizen 33/1
Christian Bezuidenhout 70/1
Brandon Grace 50/1I have backed some outsides to lesser stakes
Danny Willett 150/1
Matt Jones 200/1
Kevin Streelman 175/1I have also backed Danny Willett 33/1 (Top Brit)
Matt Jones 12/1 (Top Aussie)
and Danny Willett 6/1 to finish top thirtyAnd finally Oosthuizen at 40/1 and Grace at 50/1 to be first round leader.
Like I said a shopping list but hopefully get some good returns.
Good Luck Guys
July 14, 2021 at 19:35 #1550791Ante Post back in January
Tyrrell Hatton 50/1
He’s best priced 33s now so I seem ahead of the market. He has the game
for a Major, T18 in The Masters and a top 20 finish last time out in
the Scottish Open, despite a 1 over 3rd round.Viktor Hovland 66/1
Hovland is also 33s now. He had to pull out of the US Open after 1 round
with an eye problem, but that was obviously sorted when he won the BMW
International Open in Germany next time out. His 1st try in the Open, but
write him off at your peril.Added this week
Louis OOsthuizen 33/1 (45/1 1st round leader market)
He’s in the form of his life at the moment, a previous Open winner who
was runner-up in the US Open, and T2 in the PGA. His putter is the hottest
on the planet at the moment. He has a serious chance.Joaquin Niemann 66/1 (50/1 1st round leader market)
I’ve put Joaquin up a few times, he nearly came good for me at the start of
the year with a couple of runner-up spots in Hawaii but he’s not really been
at the shap end since then. A distinct improvement last time out with a T2
in the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Should be up for this.Min Woo Lee 140/1 (110/1 1st round leader market)
I think the bookies have got this badly wrong. This young Ozzie who won the
Scottish Open last week is no flash in the pan. He was T17 in the Irish Open
the week before that so this course should be right up his street. Previously
3rd in the Australian PGA and a winner of the Handa Vic Open last year. I think
he’s the real value in this.Guido Migliozzi 125/1 (100/1 1st round leader market)
Another overpriced player. His last 4 tournaments include runner-up in the British
Masters and then the Made In Himmerland, followed by T4 in the US Open. That
is seriously good form. Worth a shout at these odds.Good luck to all this week
July 14, 2021 at 22:33 #1550806CHRISTIAAN BEZ – backed him for this a few months back and have kept topping up. His profile fails on the tournament experience front but the present South Africans on tour are playing well at the moment with the younger ones raising the bar for one another.
GARRICK HIGO – Another progressive South African who the profile disciples would cross out for lack of tournament experience but he is turning into a win machine and I couldn’t resist a speculative wager.
PATRICK CANTLAY – Has been my favorite player for years – when he began playing regularly again after his long lay off he started 300/1 at Sawgrass and made the penultimate pairing on the final day before dropping away. Never fancy prices anymore but was 12th on the first of his two appearances in this and can tough it out under pressure.
July 15, 2021 at 15:21 #1550843I’m hanging on to see if anyone looks like coming near Oosthhuizen in the 1st round. He’s
1/6 with Paddy Power, who I’ve got the bet on e/w at 45/1 and he’s finished 6 under. I’m
getting offered a very good cash out, near enough 75% of my potential winnings. Of those
early starters none can get near but plenty with near enough a round to go, Kisner has just
gone 2 under after 2 and JT has just started, McIlroy yet to start. If anyone gets to 3 under
in the 1st 9 I might consider it, especially if it’s JT or McIlroy. It only needs 1 to get to
6 under and it’s halved.July 15, 2021 at 17:50 #1550851I’ve not cashed out, hopefully 1/40 should mean he’s safe, but just
in case I’ve stuck 20 quid on Benjamin Herbert at 50/1, he’s 4 under
after 14 and the nearest to Oosthuizen of those still out there.July 15, 2021 at 22:21 #1550862Well done mate with Oosthuizein in 1st round leader WILLETT and Fleetwood my best bets so far
July 16, 2021 at 01:28 #1550882Cheers Darren, I thought he might drop a shot after ending in the fairway bunker from
his drive on the 18th, but he hit his third to 8 feet and as I said earlier, his putter
is the hottest on the planet at the moment. Willet and Fleetwood both in a good position
on 3 under, good luck with them. Raymo and Mike will be well pleased being on Oosthuizen
too, he looks steady as a rock guys
July 16, 2021 at 07:41 #1550890WELL DONE ME AND GRAHAM
That has paid for the shopping list and a bit more!!
And Barbasol looks decent after round one for me too!! Just waiting for the wheels to fall off now
July 16, 2021 at 09:30 #1550896Ah Raymo, I missed you had the 1st round bet on Oosthuizen. I’m so pleased
you had it on, brilliant mate
July 16, 2021 at 16:09 #1550937Why does Dechambeau get so much TV time? He’s struggling over par yet they still ‘hype him up’ and show his shots.
July 16, 2021 at 16:19 #1550940I know what you mean but he is in the same group as Spieth, who is right up there.
July 16, 2021 at 16:34 #1550946Cashed out Rahm and transferred to Morikawa 7-2.
July 16, 2021 at 16:41 #1550949Rahm was playing with Oosthuizen who was right up there yesterday yet Rahm was hardly shown then. So don’t get it really. Maybe Sky tv folk think smacking it with no control is entertaining
