One of my main targets for this season was Imperial Saint in this, but at 5-2 I’ll not bet just now. Hoping for some sort of a drift by Sunday

I could make a case for Ahoy Senor being big enough at 10’s, but all about Imperial Saint for me right now

Edit – No Bet, too short

    Imperial Saint

I expect this will be Minella dramas gold cup , should be prepped for a big run

Colonel Harry was dining at the top table as a novice and was well fancied for the old Hennessy last season. This looks more his level and a mark of 144 is fair. Plenty of old friends in this and I could talk myself into most of them, but I’ll keep myself disciplined.

I like Boombawn, though Minella Drama has good form in this race a second followed by win last year
Imperial Saint also in his favour he likes Aintree

Minella should be fit for this , I just wonder esp with the yard flying if Russell has Ah Senor fit for this , he ran his best race last season in it , they just be keen to get a win for him , owners been very patient

No Colonel Harry so it’s an unoriginal vote for Imperial Saint. Master Chewey is incredibly likable and fills out the forecast.

The first double I ever landed was in 2008 with Knowhere in this and Fundamentalist in the veterans chase earlier in the card and I always enjoy a go with the same double each year. This year I’ll be doubling up with Ashtown Lad.

    Love this time of year.

I’ve covered Minella Drama and Ahoy Senor , I really think Russell will have Ahoy spot on for today , if so and he jumps round then he could outclass this lot

Not a horse I would normally back for obvious reasons but Hitman 9-1.

The more I know the less I understand.

I don’t see Ahoy Senor winning this myself. Backers are still looking for past glories going back to 2023 and 2021 (over this trip). He was 3rd last year but that was following a good run at Aintree where some ability was there to hang on to.

Same here RTB – Hitman, 19/2 (Lads boost).

Just for a bit of interest and a punt really; only a small wager.

Best of luck to all :good:

True but he was a 28-1 shot who didn’t get round. And around 20 lengths behind at Aintree in April where he arguably runs his best race and made jumping errors again. Each to their own but not for me.

Imperial Saint couldn’t win a hcap at Aintree , Ahoy was 3rd here last year off 169 when given let’s say a gentle ride
