I remember Top Strategy coming 4th in the Triumph Hurdle at 25-1 when Ted Walsh trained him, and I had a few quid on EW. I hadn’t heard of him for years, till he won a 3 mile hurdle in Punchestown on tues, by a head, at 25-1; great to see the old boy still battling on as a ten year old. This is why NH is so great.
May 20, 2010 at 20:59 #296349Yes there are always a nice few memories and the Hunter Chase successes recently of Take The Stand is another example.
These old horses should really be highlighted to attract new punters as they are normally stories of truly loved horses who truly love the sport.
Great stuff
