    Too right.
when my remaining contacts run out, specsavers replenish them.

And now all the horses are testing positive.
    You couldn’t make it up.

Apparently the threshold for failure in France is lower than in the UK 50 as opposed to 150 which would explain why there are more failed tests in France than the UK.

France never reveal the amount in a failed test, I am not sure if that is a good or a bad thing.

There is another jockey who failed a test recently in France and that is Robbie Downey.

Reading on what happened to Downey and Havlin I would say that Murphy appears not to have any chance with the B test coming back negative.

French testing seems very accurate as far as I can see.

Of course he is innocent until proven guilty, but as Paul already pointed out the testing is very reliable. On the other hand he wouldn’t be the first jockey ever to use cocaine (or alcohol).

Let’s see what the B test awaits for him and then we’ll hear what he has to say.

The purpose of the test is so you don’t have to take someones word for it, is it not?

I realise that there have been plenty of people in the past who have pleaded not guilty who have been quite obviously guilty.

But Havlin and Murphy have put up a convincing argument of their innocence. Gosden was also convinced of Havlins innocence. I cannot comment on Downey, as I have not read enough on his case.

Now please do not read into this that I am accusing France Galop of a witchhunt against British and Irish jockeys. I just would like to look at this from a different angle, but I would be interested to know of how many French Jockeys have failed a test in the recent years.

Unless you can offer an explanation on how you failed the France Galop / WADA threshold of 50 ng/ml in your urine sample I’m not sure how convincing your innocence would appear in a court / hearing
Not wanting to take up the ”Dr Ferrari” position of explaining away in competition doping but I’m thinking of cyclists who used pre approved steroid based gels masking the use of other substances which showed up in dope tests or the use of an inhaler (which I believe Oisin Murphy requires) which has been noted by some other cyclists as an explanation for certain discrepencies in testing that were accepted by authorities

Yeah, three month ban from December 11th til March 21st. What a joke!

In my opinion there should be no ban, but he should lose all prize money and all the races won from the day of the test until three months later. Otherwise the doping will continue and please let’s not think that he is a good and innocent guy.

I don’t care about the sex he had with a potential drug user that might have led to the contamination of his c**k. Otherwise sex with a prostitute will always give you a clean bill of “health”.

I thought Poppy was more into goats. How is she doing now? I understand she likes to concentrate on the jumps, but she doesn’t have any rides at all. In public that is.

Due to a BHA cock up(sorry, administrative error) Oisin is unable to take up his rides today and tomorrow.

They have had three months to prepare for him coming back FFS.

Plenty of wags on twitter saying that the IHRB should issue a statement saying that they are monitoring the situation but it is the the BHAs responsibility.

Maybe someone used tippex on his form to cover over an error and no-one was sure what the substance was. So they sent a sample to Newmarket for analysis. Three months later they are still waiting for the results.
