Course watered yesterday and at 6:30 this morning after 7mm of overnight rain the ground was good to soft (not sure how that works if they said if that hadn’t of happened it would have meant good to firm being in the description at the very least!).
Unfortunately, they then received more rain (17mm) than was forecast since to the extent that there is now surface water on the course and an inspection was called for 11:30 (they passed it). Also 16 of the 19 non runners are ground related.
April 23, 2023 at 12:01 #1645111A clerk of the course named Waters. My sides are splitting!
After his watering, Waters said: “We definitely would have had good to firm in places at the very least if we hadn’t have watered and received the rain.”
Which begs the question: so what?
April 23, 2023 at 12:11 #16451137mm plus the no doubt couple of mm they put on themselves to me doesn’t explain how the course could go from definitely having good to firm in places with no watering/rain to being good to soft before they got the additional 17mm deluge……surface water after that would indicate the ground wasn’t as quick as they would like us to believe me thinks.
Ground that is good, good to firm in places would not have likely ended up with 16 non-runners due to the ground that we now have with the course being soft.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"April 23, 2023 at 12:46 #1645123There was enough rain in the forecast yday, for yday eve and overnight to have made today’s ground perfect for jump racing there.
