    Another ground related fatality at Southwell tonight.
    If you can`t jump half of the hurdles due to the low sun, why bother with racing at all??? If horses can`t see the hurdles properly due to the light conditions, they surely won`t see other things as well. Like the horses running in front of them. So the logical thing is to abandon the (rest of the) meeting. Especially when there is another factor against you like good to firm ground.
    However we should take into serious consideration that some racecourses are run by the biggest morons around. Logical thinking might be beyond them.

    A very good point raised, RubyLight. Why do the authorities continue to sanction jump meetings at a time of day when the low sun could cause problems? How many horses must lose their lives, or jockeys get injured, before common sense prevails?
