Picked out two for this. FAIR ANGELLICA won snugly last time over in France in a listed contest, unsure how good the form is but she has looked progressive over 7f. I can ignore her no show at Ascot as it was over a mile and she was drawn on the wrong side.
The other one I have been waiting for and that is SEA OF THIEVES. I didn’t think she would get a mile when last seen at Epsom and that was exactly the case as she loomed up strongly over a furlong out but then emptied. The form of her 7f victory before that is pretty good with the horse in behind her running well in higher company. She’ll likely be underestimated back at this trip.FAIR ANGELLICA 11/2
SEA OF THIEVES 25/1

July 31, 2024 at 14:52 #1703391Is Johnny Murtagh on something no way Jabaara was a length and a half clear when she crossed over.

July 31, 2024 at 14:56 #1703393The argument between Johnny Murtagh and Jason Weaver was more thrilling than the race itself 😁
July 31, 2024 at 14:56 #1703394I don’t think i would’ve reversed it myself as I didn’t notice any telling interference. Crowley saw Doyle coming and switched and horses switch out (or in) in races all the time.
July 31, 2024 at 14:58 #1703395Johnny is correct, rtb, had crowley kept riding, 100% he would have been impeded, but crowley anticipated it which he shouldnt have done and his momentum was not checked, he was definitely atleast 1 full length clear and the horse at that time was quickening away
This will be appealed and reversed back to jaabara, absolutely no doubt about it,
Another god awful decision
July 31, 2024 at 15:05 #1703401If Crawley would’ve continued as Murtagh suggests, he would’ve risked clipping heels. So you can understand him taking a pull.
Good decision.
Value Is EverythingJuly 31, 2024 at 15:06 #1703403Judging by the distance at the finish had Raqiya had a clear run she would have one comfortably in my view. There is no doubt her momentum was impeded judged by the ground she made up.

July 31, 2024 at 15:11 #1703405Wether it was a good decision by crowley or not ginge is irrelevant, the wording of the rules states that jaabara was within her rights at the time to come across, if they want to make it clearer, increase the distance for coming across to 2 lengths, as the rules are written right now, jaabara followed them
Her momentum was impeded the same way a horse caught in traffics would be RTB, thats sort of irrelevant in this case as jaabara according to the rules, came across with enough distance, so raqiya was by the rules, caught in traffic, which was her own fault
Theres absolutely no doubt about this that on appeal ittl be reversed back again and theyll need to review the crossing distances
July 31, 2024 at 15:20 #1703411Depends whether you believe the leader was a length and a half clear. I don’t. Therefore it was not the same as “caught in traffic”.
Value Is EverythingJuly 31, 2024 at 15:22 #1703412I cannot see she was a length and a half clear albeit the angle was deceptive.

July 31, 2024 at 15:44 #1703421Its one of those where on a different course something more conventional it probably doesnt happen and the original winner wins easily without hanging the way she did which would have cost her a lot of momentum. I don’t think Crowley does himself any favours getting horses regularly beat by waiting too long for gaps and he got slightly fortunate today as he did it again initially.
July 31, 2024 at 16:17 #1703430Poor decision for me, Crowley pre-empted any possible interference by moving out. Not sure you should be disqualified for that.
Head of stewarding appeared to spend the whole time of the enquiry that we saw, asking the jockeys questions. If he knows his job he shouldn’t need to ask them anything regards the result.
