Bataash probably hard to beat here, but two catching my eye early doors…..

Art Power seems big enough to me at 13-2, as he looks very, very good, while there’s a chance that things have finally clicked for A’Ali, and he appeals at the 16’s, as if he can keep progressing, I could see him sneak a place.
No bet yet, but this pair appeal at the moment.
Art Power 13-2
A’Ali 16’s EWJuly 20, 2020 at 11:23 #1494504I’ve taken some 10-1 ew about Golden Pal. Battaash the most likely winner for me against the 3 year olds and the older horses over 5f, but as the 2 yr old has a 24lb weight for age allowance he just might be difficult to catch on fast ground. I think he would’ve won the Norfolk at Ascot if the ground was fast.
July 22, 2020 at 13:24 #1494667I like Golden Pal as well at 10-1, and I will definitely bet him if he runs.
I also think that The Lir Jet could bounce back here with that 2 year old allowance.
July 22, 2020 at 13:38 #1494671Kris, Wesley Ward has confirmed that he is an intended runner.
July 22, 2020 at 13:40 #1494674Thank you for that news, I’ll bet him right now.
July 25, 2020 at 18:49 #1495044GOLDEN PAL 10/1
EQUILATERAL 25/1 Unlucky last time out this race full of shocks no reason can’t add to it tears in eyes if he wins it but am waiting for good pal Jack give tip clog.
August 16, 2020 at 14:29 #1497394Looks to be plenty of pace in this race
Way I see it is battaash will burn off all the prominent runners and A’ali will pick up the pieces and finish second
So I will be backing him in the w/o battaash market on the day
Shame no dettori to ride him but buick is the second best choice around imo
August 16, 2020 at 15:59 #1497415I’ve been rattling on about ART POWER since I saw him win at York last October. Comfortable winner of a Group 3 last time in Ireland and we still have yet to see him pressed this season. It will be tough against Battaash but I do think Art Power could be good enough.
August 16, 2020 at 23:38 #1497463Happy with my pair in this, and delighted to see the small entry, especially in the case of A’Ali.
If all ten stood their ground, and someone (probably Skybet) went four places, I would add Ornate, who ran a stormer at Goodwood.
August 17, 2020 at 10:25 #1497481I cashed out on Golden Pal. Not going to run reports say.
August 17, 2020 at 16:03 #1497526More disappointing news for me with Golden Pal.
Mike, I don’t do cash outs or lays, or anything like that, but can you explain to me what self respecting bookmaker would allow you to cash out on a horse that they’ll know isn’t running, long before you will
August 17, 2020 at 18:02 #1497545Kris I just got lucky this time, I read the story within minutes of it coming out.
August 18, 2020 at 02:36 #1497582I’m another who has been well impressed with Art Power and backed him at 6/1
(in ante post betting forum) a while back. Battash is going to be a hard nut to crack,
but I think he’s as promising a sprinter that I’ve seen for a while. He’s half that
price now so obviously plenty agree.August 19, 2020 at 16:07 #1497843Ok Mike, whatever you say
August 20, 2020 at 12:27 #14980453-year-olds record in this is really poor, only 4 wins from 20 runnings and 0/8 recently.
Battaash has matured this season it seems so we probably could have more confidence in him, but just going on his record from this meeting onwards over the last 3 seasons is 414410. That is completely different from his form at the beginning of the season when he has lost only twice to Blue Point in 9 starts.
The highest-rated horse also has an unusually poor record, just 2/11. In the last 10 seasons, this race has also produced a 100/1, 20/1 and 2 x 40/1 winners. This all makes Battaash very unappealing at 1/2F odds for me.
I’ve gone with Moss Gill EW. CD Listed winner last time out in a race that’s not a bad guide, 2 winners have come from that race in the last 7 years.
He looks the best of the rest and if one of the three-year-olds doesn’t perform, he could easily place.
In fact with their poor record, if Battaash does run backwards then he’ll have a chance at massive odds
Moss Gill 33/1 EW
August 20, 2020 at 17:47 #1498123Getting lucky again I see Mike.
This race is obviously all about Bataash and Art Power. The tried and tested, versus another potential star.
The gut tells me to sit this out, but I will follow you in Frenchy on those terms.
August 21, 2020 at 06:41 #1498182I just hope ITV don’t make a big song and dance if he breaks the track record again…. in track and field (Athletics) if wind assistance is above 2 metres per second the time is null and void as far as the record goes. Battaash is obviously an exceptional sprinter and it was a big deal of sorts when he bettered Dayjur’s time last year but if they do make a big deal about these things context is needed as to how the circumstances helped the record get broken i.e. the ground and wind assistance, they made a big deal about Battaash setting the Goodwood record without acknowledging that Glass Slippers and Ornate also beat the previous record. No offence but Ornate is 7 year old now who whilst an Epsom Dash winner (thus making him a very fast horse on his day) he has never been a stakes/graded winner in 22 attempts so they need to acknowledge that circumstances very much helped Battaash that day for all he won by a mile, but of course that wouldn’t fit in with their agenda. I’m not sure who they are pushing this speed agenda with I don’t know anybody amongst my racing friends/family who give a damn about what time Battaash runs.
