A long way to go but Golden Pal 5/1 e/w Hills

Has just been acquired by Coolmore/Westerberg (https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/golden-pal-acquired-by-coolmore-to-target-nunthorpe/)

Coolmore sponsor the race so this the current plan.

Hard to know if Battaash will still be the king but look forward to seeing if that is the case.

Wes is always bullish about his horses but certainly is keen on this fella.

Wes has won the Nunthorpe with Acapulco and who remembers Frankie famously prematurely celebrating on Lady A, as Marsha took the win back in 2017

Fingers x this lad stays sound as he has to go close :good:

I’m a big fan of Romantic Proposal, but I’m still no sure that connections have fully got a proper handle on her, or what her best trip is.

Much better last time over 6 (she’s also won over 7), there’s enough to be wary of over this trip, but she’s got an entry in The Sapphire Stakes in a fortnight, so with the chance she could run well there, thought I’d take the 40’s here.

I had earlier said that WW won the Nunthorpe with Acapulco but he didnt as if memory serves Mecca’s Angel beat him.

    Therefore plenty of unfinished business.

Hopefully he stays fit and its a cracker of a race.

Cant see past golden pal personally after watching that

Wouldnt be overly surprised if dragon symbol reversed form with suesa if both run

She got the dream run through today mike

Murphy had to switch 2 or 3 times to get a gap on dragon symbol

Just saying I wouldnt be surprised if that form was reversed

Though it is a 5f race so that’s not saying much

With battaash looking over the hill im really hoping Golden Pal is as good as ward thinks he is and I hope he is

If he’s not then you’d have to think suesa and dragon symbol are very much the ones to beat as the older 5f horses are all useless

Unless its a bog in the Nunthorpe i cant see it reversed. DS may even switch back to 6f.

Suesa not going to York says Strawbridge. Glass Slippers will surely be spot on now, and a threat to all.

Must be a good chance glass slippers goes to try to retain the flying 5 at the curragh instead of coming here

I’m sure Mike will have cashed out his bet if the owner has said suesa is going elsewhere

He has the fastest fingers in the west

I watch the ITV coverage on mute, with the lads from RP Live on the Laptop. They mentioned the quotes, with surprise.

The RP don’t note them, but say immediately after the race the winner was as short as 2-1 for the Nunny, with Unibet a stand-out 4-1. Hats off Mike, you’ve managed to to it yet again.
