Both really poor yesterday
Kilcruit my big bet of the day, and I’ve had a real go
Less than an hour till The Irish National, and still considering Another Choice, Duffle Coat, and Johnnywho
Jack McInerney – Kilcruit 33’s EW
Irish National – Any Second Now 28’s EW5Pls
Irish National – Quai De Bourbon 14’sApril 26, 2025 at 14:18 #1728364Kilcruit terrible the other day, but problem is that he didn’t try a leg, and I still have to follow him after that
I had too many selections in The Irish National, but of the two big ones, I got second and third, and a decent return from one of the best, Any Second Now. The three late ones didn’t impact on my profit, but the Antepost on Kilcruit took a few quid with it.
Still another week of my season to go, and I’ll kick on at Punchestown
Today’s hopefuls…………
Appreciate It 25’s EW
Minella Cocooner 9’s
Spanish Harlem 50’s EWApril 29, 2025 at 22:44 #1728725Well pleased with Saturday
Spanish Harlem and Appreciate It were bigger EW bets, so really good day. Both will remain on radar next year
Really enjoyed first day at Punchestown. Day Two kicks off with an outstanding hurdle, but focus on two horses at prices I rarely play at
Banbridge 9-2
Blue Lord 5’sMay 1, 2025 at 00:07 #1728830Poor runs Wednesday, but I’ll forgive Banbridge anything
Been a great season, three days to go, so I’ll just put everything up
Gabriel’s Getaway 18’s EW
Midnight It Is
Read To Return 16’s EW4Pls
Doddiethegreat
Brookie 25’s EW3Pls
Franciscan Rock 50’s EWMay 2, 2025 at 00:28 #1728922Very poor Thursday, and though I got 14’s EW on Doddiethegreat, it wasn’t one of the main bets, so just a token return
Hoping for better from this pair today
Ontheropes 25’s
Sir Argus 33’s EW4PlsMay 2, 2025 at 23:47 #1729076Last day of my season, and what a day to finish it. Bar the two staying chases, and that batshit crazy hurdle at the end of the card, the last day of Punchestown is usually my least favourite, but it’s a great card Saturday
The opener sees a host of old favourites, but I’ll go with old Conflated, and not ruled out adding Coko Beach EW either
Difficult to say how good this 1505 is. What a race. I could take ten of them, but had to desert From The Ashes, Sir Bob, Another Choice, and History of Fashion. An incredibly good handicap this
I’m happy that I’ve not went with multiple choices too much this season, but I’m going with four in this. Dreaming Blue is the main one, but I’ll also be with Brandt, Duffle Coat, and Shanbally Kid. Shanbally is the second string, with the other two as backup for smaller amounts. (Bet Duffle Coat, then quickly cashed out)
The Pat Taaffe is more straightforward, and all about old Sam Brown
Too Bossy For Us is the bet in the Juvenile, and Mousey Brown is the call in the mad hurdle
Last bet of the season is Slipway at Uttoxeter
Oaklodgelandscapes
Dreaming Blue 14’s
Shanbally Kid 25’sPat Taaffe – Bill Baxter 18’s EW 5Pls
Juvenile – Too Bossy For Us 28’s EW
Lawlors Hurdle – Mousey Brown 33’s EW6Pls
Staffordshire Plate – Slipways 18’s EW 5PlsMay 3, 2025 at 17:37 #1729320Bill Baxter. That was a long time coming. Thank goodness I spotted that he was running. I do get him and Sam Brown mixed up though.
May 5, 2025 at 01:24 #1729497Yes Moe, long time coming, and initially I didn’t see it coming. Stumbled into that winner, as I only gave him a proper look through the Ten To Follow
Delighted to end with winners at 18’s and 25’s, and just loved that run from Shanbally Kid. Very worth the wait
Season end for me then, and after a an acceptable 23/24 season, this was miles better, and my fourth best season ever.
Some right good days, and want to say that that 24 hours when Banbridge and Val Dancer won, was the highlight, but probably if pushed, that Saturday when Moroder, Booster Bob, and Sam Brown won, just topped it
Horse of the year for me definitely Nick Rockett, and meant a lot winning The Thyestes and National
Looking forward to a break now until Royal Ascot, but if my horse for the Summer, Brazil, runs in The Mayo National, I’ll be sure to have a fair bet.
Pleased to have less Anteposts on the go, and I’ve cashed out my Franciscan Rock bet for The Stayers, while after Punchestown, Ballyburn is definitely a loser. Only topped him up, after I couldn’t cash out or lay off my 12’s Antepost, so knew what I was getting into
Roll on Royal Ascot, and I’ll be keeping an eye out for Hi Royal, and This Songisforyou in the entries
May 6, 2025 at 00:21 #1729601A fab season for you VtC you aced loads of the staying handicaps. Well done with Nick Rockett..even if he did beat Grangeclare West!!
May 6, 2025 at 07:10 #1729604Thanks Grass, he did me proud. Now to join when Grangeclare wins at a price next season…………
May 6, 2025 at 10:32 #1729610“Now to join when Grangeclare wins at a price next season………”
Well I did back Shanbally Kid there after you’d done all the work so fair enough
I want to see if your Classic Getaway targeylt prediction is right. Dunno if he’ll like the hill at Galway, prob lead all the way then get passed out by a couple.May 8, 2025 at 22:28 #1729832If he doesn’t go there, then absolutely nailed on I reckon for a decent handicap in next months.
If he does get pipped late on, I’m guessing it’ll be by Blue Lord or Kilcruit lol
