DANCETERIA is set to run at The Curragh on Sunday, in what could be a disaster for his Cambridgeshire attempt.
The trainer warned he may run in Ireland but said it was possible he may run in both.
The jockey Fran Berry has said that Sunday may be the last time the horse ever runs in a Handicap though.
Anyway, it seems sense to back him on Sunday to more than pay for the Cambridgeshire bet and I am certainly happy enough with 8/1. The jockey says he won’t want a high draw but he seems confident the horse is going places.
Astronomer is 7/2 fav for O’Brien but he’s jocked up for Saturday and he looked more of a stayer.
I say there is a fair chance Danceteria goes off a good bit less than 8/1.
I’ll fill my boots at 8’s
Danceteria 8/1 is my Nap of the weekend
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 13, 2018 at 20:00 #1373841As I said to you Steve, he did look a live one for Newmarket, and was kicking myself for not spotting him myself, but kept an eye, and took the 8’s as well. I think he can easily take in both, and wouldn’t be writing him off yet for Newmarket.
I might have a saver on Lucius Tiberius, but as well waiting on place concessions, should I go with him. Same sentiments for my main fancy Nimitz. I think he’s way overpriced, and though steadily, if not spectacularly progressive, he looks worth risking. Itching to take that 33’s just now ew, but I’ll happily wait, with one eye on the market. Win only for now.
Danceteria 8’s
Nimitz 33’s
Both WinSeptember 15, 2018 at 23:02 #1374207Nimitz was balloted out, so as planned, going to side with Lucius Tiberius, and took the 16’s Each Way.
Strong field, and was looking for a #3, but I’ll stick with Danceteria & Lucius.
September 16, 2018 at 19:42 #1374407Danceteria was very weak in the betting today and he dwelt in the stalls.
With a furlong to go he was in coffin corner at back. Fran Berry must have thought he was on Nijinsky and as strongly as Danceteria stayed on in the last 200 yards, passing horse after horse to finish 5th, he never had a prayer from where he was going into the last furlong.
I thought it was a very eye catching effort but they won’t win the Cambridgeshire with him unless they can keep closer tabs on the field.
A poor effort from the jockey I thought, the horse had top weight and ran his heart out only for a poxy 5th. He should have been 2nd at least and there would have been no disgrace conceding 19 lbs to the winner.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
