Apparantly Mr. Henderson is up at the crack of dawn and out there among them every morning.
I find it hard to tell when he is drunk or sober with that big red face of his and his jovial smile.
He is second to none when it comes to training so if he is drunk half the time imagine what he would do sober

June 17, 2008 at 19:11 #168873Always p*ssed, especially if the race tends to be towards the latter part of the day! Someone I know owned a gelding called Flown with him and said he turns up at most meetings, goes to the bar with his owners and only leaves when he needs to be in the pre parade ring!!!

Still, a top bloke and a top trainer.
June 17, 2008 at 19:30 #168875when we bumped into him at Kelso last year he was walking the course…my partner had a really good chat with him; a real gent in my book.

Loved that horse having backed him in the supreme novices years back. Never quite went on from there though unfortunately.

A lovely bloke all the same
June 18, 2008 at 14:23 #169076He is quickly turning into the old boy on The Fast Show who used to sit next to the open fire and was always “very, very, dwunk”.

Rowley Birkin QC, no less.
“Completely covered in hair”, “Snakes!!!”, “Range of interesting cheeses”, etc.
