According to the BBC West, Paul Nicholls Stables has been flooded.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 5, 2024 at 17:37 #1676304It only affected 6 horses and it sounds like everything is OK now:
January 5, 2024 at 18:54 #1676318Yes six horses had to be moved to other stables. Paul says everything like normal today now water gone down stables and gallops

January 5, 2024 at 19:00 #1676322Seems like the BBC exaggerated the problem.
Who’d have thought it?
Value Is EverythingJanuary 5, 2024 at 19:02 #1676324Don’t worry Gingertipster originally the headline from racing post made me think same thing. Then when I read further into it.
Just glad it wasn’t as bad as fearedVf x
January 6, 2024 at 02:15 #1676370I suppose the media is desperate for shots of something other than half submerged vehicles and drone footage of flooded fields. Nicholls, or one of his staff, clearly sent photos to the press so no surprise they ran the story (even though it isn’t much of a story). Glad all are safe though.

That’s the BBC story, from 22 hours ago it says (so about 10am yesterday). It says six horses affected and Nicholls quoted as saying everything is fine. People bashing the BBC without checking the facts, who’d have thought it?
January 6, 2024 at 11:20 #1676404Here’s footage of Ditcheat the BBC didn’t use, Nicholls is the rider on the fat skewbald.
January 6, 2024 at 11:23 #1676406Am sure some of the BBC’s online news had all the facts, Richard.
The bit that I originally heard on local news seemed to exaggerate the problem.Value Is EverythingJanuary 6, 2024 at 14:45 #1676435What a fantastic video greenasgrass.
The quote about Nicholls’ horses “floating in their boxes” makes the flooding sound extremely bad, and is rather at odds with the photo of a horse being led through ankle-deep water.
