100 winners for the year, a great achievement, well done to her.
December 31, 2008 at 01:48 #200500Fantastic achievement from a filly constantly running against the colts!
December 31, 2008 at 02:09 #200502Big well done for Hayley.
i didn’t rate her not so long ago but she has change my opinion of her in the past season or so as she seems to just get better.

Could you imagine if she got married at Wolverhampton and was rode in a cart toed by Mullitovermaurice.
Fantastic jockey and what an achievment, next step modeling?
December 31, 2008 at 03:40 #200519Wonderful stuff – here’s hoping for more of the same from her in the years to come!

December 31, 2008 at 03:49 #200523Superb stuff!
Here’s hoping she gets some more high class bookings now
December 31, 2008 at 03:50 #200524hope she gets a chance to win a good group race next season after this years efforts.
December 31, 2008 at 03:59 #200525Well done indeed. Very well deserved and I echo the sentiments of everyone else. Also she walked away with the Channel 4 Racing Personality of the Year. She is just what the sport needs.
December 31, 2008 at 04:19 #200534I think it is a monumental day for racing.
I remember when Julie Krone was tearing things up in the US and it seemed that girls over here never really got the chances they deserved. I doubted that a girl would ride 100 winners in a season in my lifetime.
The advent of all-weather has undoubtedly been the catalyst and the penny has finally dropped with trainers that brute strength isn’t everything.
I’m absolutely delighted for Hayley and hope she goes from strength to strength. It would be fantastic if she could get some Group winners. Who knows, maybe one day she’ll ride a fancied one in the Derby and win it.
Now THAT would be the stuff of Hollywood.
December 31, 2008 at 04:25 #200535Not the biggest fan of female jockeys but the facts dont lie well done Hayley!!!!
Wonder what price she was at start of season to get the 100?????
December 31, 2008 at 05:58 #200549Agree with all the previous sentiments – an exceptional effort.
December 31, 2008 at 06:07 #200551Well done Hayley.
A really good jockey and deserves to be up their.
As far as role models go for the young girls of today then Hayley is at the top alongside Becky Adlington,Leona Lewis,Laura Robson and Elenor Simmonds.
An absoloute credit to the sport and long may her fine career continue.
December 31, 2008 at 08:40 #200559WELL DONE HAYLEY
December 31, 2008 at 09:00 #200560Am I TOTALLY OFF the mark

Whip crack-away!, Whip crack-away!, Whip crack-away!not bad cheese for an inomniac
December 31, 2008 at 13:11 #200565Leaving aside the gender of the jockey, this is a pretty rare achievement anyway. For any jockey to reach 100 winners without the support of one of the major stables is unusual, to do it so soon after being an apprentice is exceptional.
I’m sure we could produce a long list of jockeys that looked potential champions in their apprentice days, but disappeared off the radar once they could no longer claim. Wasn’t it Saleem Golam that she shared the apprentice title with – how many winners has he had this year?
December 31, 2008 at 14:23 #200573I think it may be 22.
