Assume Betfair no longer sponsor………

Looks a very strong entry, and there are so many catching my eye
Of the fancied runners, I think Beat The Bat is a nice type, and of the bigger prices, these really appealed too…
Aucunrisque
Country Park
Fasol
Gentleman Bill
King William Rufus
Washington……but obviously too many in that list to be tempted with any of them
The one standout though for me is Minella Missile. I was very keen on him for The Relkeel last year, but he didn’t go, and not out since. That layoff is a concern, as was his entry for The Lanzarote, obviously over a longer trip than this, but he’s a horse I really like, and I’ll definitely be betting him at some point over the next few weeks, and hopefully it’ll be in this. Very tempted at current 33’s
Minella Missile
January 14, 2025 at 23:17 #1718055It will be interesting to see whether the best horses will run.
With the best of the Irish Hurdlers seemingly set to stay at home for the Irish Champion Hurdle… And Constitution Hill going straight for the Champion… Connections of all the top weights in this race -Burdett Road, Brentford Hope, Golden Ace, Iberico Lord and Lump Sum – could all have an excellent chance of easier money in the Grade 2 International.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 21, 2025 at 16:42 #1718577I’ve had a couple of early each way bets here. Our Champ at 40s (backed him when 7th in this last year) and Favour And Fortune 25/1. Both are overpriced and if the ground has any ‘good’ in it on the day I’ll be hopeful both will hit the frame. I’m confident both are being aimed at this which is half the battle.
January 22, 2025 at 15:21 #1718608What happened to the ‘Gold Trophy’ part of the race title?? Whether Schweppes, or Tote…..
Another race changes sponsor, and the race title changes, or is removed.
Now it’s the William Hill Handicap Hurdle……another bog standard handicap hurdle, not to be confused with the one that used to be run at Sandown on Tingle Creek day.
February 2, 2025 at 18:26 #1719695I really Josh The Boss for this and I thought that 33-1 was worth an earlyish punt
February 3, 2025 at 14:32 #1719754Secret Squirrel’s chance is obvious, backed him last time, may do so again nearer the time.
Wreckless Eric has a liking for nice ground and was 3.5 lengths behind Secret Squirrel in soft conditions last time and get’s a 5 lb pull here. Whether that will be enough on potentially a better surface to turn it around I’m not sure but at 25-1 and ew 4 places on offer he is one I want to side with at this stage. He is only 5 so there may still be some improvement left and the trainer has won this race before. It’s a dry outlook weather wise.
February 3, 2025 at 17:00 #1719759I’m with you, Mike, except i’m on win only.
Wreckless Eric 25s
February 4, 2025 at 14:52 #1719807Added Tellherthename 10-1 ew 4 places
February 5, 2025 at 13:14 #1719846Cashed out Wrestless Eric. Owners have Tellherthename as well, who has been backed, and was reported to be an intended runner, so not sure if they are going to run both of them as Wrestless Eric is drifting a bit in the market.
February 5, 2025 at 20:49 #1719859I guess NH racing can no longer afford the gold for the trophy.
February 6, 2025 at 13:50 #1719882Shame about my original bet, but hey-ho. No point dwelling on it.
Instead i’ve taken a punt – actually it’s not a punt, as it’s a free bet from 365.
Iberico Lord 16s
February 6, 2025 at 18:22 #1719887Happy with my Favour And Fortune bet, backed at 25s now into 8s. Not so keen on my Our Champ punt given Freddie Gordon has chosen to ride Iberico Lord instead. The current going description of ‘soft’ is also putting me off but I’ll let the bet roll because I really like the horse and I also rate Rex Dingle. Hoping for a dry couple of days down there.
February 7, 2025 at 16:08 #1719969Rain overnight and into tomorrow. I’ll try Navajo Indy ew 6 places.
February 7, 2025 at 17:22 #1719978Reluctantly decided to cash out on Our Champ with his preference for genuine good ground and without his usual claimer aboard.
February 7, 2025 at 19:16 #1719991Fair price of 5/1 for the Squirrel so put a few acorns on him. Also liked Washington at 9s, won a listed race easily last time in the Ireland and runner up was victorious next time out.
February 8, 2025 at 08:56 #1720036Today’s the day for Go Dante, well it rhymes if nothing else

The more I know the less I understand.
February 8, 2025 at 09:48 #1720049So many intereseting options, really difficult to pick one out. My main bet will be Navajo Indy. I also liked him for the big handicap at Windsor, but that track clearly didn’t suit him. Wasn’t interested from the start, yet in the end he only finished 3 lengts behind the winner Secret Squirrel. The long run in at Newbury should suit him much better.
Also had to add Iberico Lord. Won this quite easily last year and now get his conditions. Too big a price to leave out. Finally added the winner of two years ago, Aucunrisque. The ground for him is not ideal. However, his mark is lower then when he won it and at that price I have a saver on him.
Navajo Indy 7/1
Iberico Lord 14/1
Aucunrisque 33/1 EW - AuthorPosts
