Guys – we are working flat out trying to get all teh tweaks and glitches ironed out. In the meantime I thought I’d start this thread so that people can post hints/tips for others on how to do ‘stuff’ on this new platform.
I’ve seen a few messages relating to the PM facility.
We are exploring this as it requires additional plug-ins and we want to make sure we get something secure. Hope to have something by next weekend.
Well my only “tip” is don’t assume you’re not logged in because you’re seeing ‘login’ at the top of the page. Scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see your name emblazoned there.

It’s gradually getting there for me, appreciate all the hard work put in and willingness to listen to people!
Is there not a ‘donation’ part on the site? Obviously problems occur from time to time and it looks like funding is a problem with it being a free site. I’m sure in this game after a nice win or something it wouldn’t be too much to chuck the odd fiver in now and again and build up an emergency fund so it’s not coming out of your own pockets….if I ever get another decent win I would definitely make a donation…

How do you copy and paste a thread?

Just “left-click” and hold-down on your mouse – just scroll over the text you wish to copy.
“right-click” mouse and “copy” – then “right-click” again and “paste” into the new thread you are creating.
Here is one cool new thing you can do –
To ‘EMBED’ a youtube video into your post (like the Grand National video I posted in the above post) you simply go to youtube and have your video playing. Below the video you’ll see a menu with the word ‘share’. Click on there and then click ’embed’ (see pic below). Copy/paste that code into your post and the video will embed (as above).
NOTE: some videos (Racing UK videos for example) do not allow embedding :(
Same thing with photos – you need to host your photo (Flickr, Instagram, Photobucket + many others are supported) and then you should be able to get an ’embed’ code when you hit a share option/icon. Copy that code into your post and your photo will share (like the one in the post above which was from flickr). You can edit the height/width in the code to optimise your photo size to suit the forum (the one above was set to 500 x 500.
In fact if you go that photo above (of the screen shot from Youtube) and hover over right/left you’ll see you can scroll through flickr images – the ones you’ll see on that one are some of my racing photos.
I’ve added something which shows a red ‘>’ icon next to a topic title on a forum menu. This ‘>’ indicates that there have been new posts on the topic/thread since you last viewed it.
(Actually, clicking the ‘>’ is actually supposed to take you to the first new post but at the moment only takes you to the topic – trying to figure it)
