Like many over here I always dismissed basketball as a sport but after I started to dabble on the in-running markets on betfair I have a greater appreciation of the sport and it’s nuances, yes it does have some.

In november I didn’t even know what a slam dunk or free throw was let alone a travelling turnover or driving layup. It didn’t matter I was still making money just by taking advantage of the sometimes insane market fluctuations.

Anyway the playoffs are upon us and Cleveland are super strong with awesome Lebron James and I prefer them over LA Lakers or Boston who won a cliffhanger against Chicago Bulls in spectacular fashion last night.

I backed the Orlando Magic some time ago, Spitfire – either at 14/1 or 20/1, I cant be bothered searching for the relevant post – and couldn’t be happier at this point in time.

They were only seconds from securing a second on-the-road victory in their seven-game series against Cleveland last night, and with home court advantage now in their favour they’re in an extremely strong position. Despite LeBron James being something of a phenomenon (there is a montage of some of his ‘trick shots’ at NBA.com which has to be seen to be believed), but if he doesn’t fire then the Cavaliers are a nothing side. I can’t see them getting anything in Florida, which gives the Magic their place in the final.

It’s also pleasing to see that the Lakers have again wasted a chance to take a 2-0 lead in a series, falling to a determined Denver Nuggets side who appear to be at the top of their game at the moment. I’d have no qualms about Orlando facing LA in the finals, but if the Nuggets could get through I’d be overjoyed.
