    I would suggest you could say this of the winners of many contests, today’s Arkle included, and that’s a Grade 1.

    A subsequent Grand National third won this race last year and I think Corbett’s Cross will take even higher rank.

    And I’d have the third on my mind for a Welsh National if the BHA leave him on 132.

    Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that EMBASSY GARDENS, placed second, had an irregular heartbeat.

    Will bear that in mind for the future.
