This could add to the pain recently suffered in this thread and judging by the drift on oddschecker the firms have been watching me
. 2/1 aboutMan City
to beat Arsenal is value in my opinion or was value they seem to have drifted everywhere in the market not sure if anyone else has been ruled out other than Tevez. City’s squad has improved since last time they played Arsenal at home 3-0 and to my untrained eye Arsenal have not despite thumping Everton and Arshavin out will be a loss to them. City have started steady without setting the world alight but have done enough to bag the points and have yet to concede a goal. Given, Richards, Lescott, Toure and Bridge is a mean defence and it could be one of those physical games Arsenal are not keen on. Adebayor will also be hungry and determined to get one over his old club.

Newcastle face a tricky away game at Blackpool but have started the season well and beat Cardiff away last time out which is not an easy task, a win here will take them top.

Sticking with Leeds and Notts County for this weekends bet.
Leeds
lost their 100% record last week but can bounce back quick with being at home, looks like it could become a fortress for them this season.
Notts County
travel to Morecambe who have yet to win in the league this season so I’m hoping Notts can transform some of their home form to their away matches. Lee Hughes is doubtful but he doesn’t score away from home anyway and is fast becoming nicknamed Hildreth by myself who cant score runs away from Taunton in the cricket. Hawley can bag the goals if absent.
Notts County 4/5 + Leeds 1/2 – £5.00 win double.

Manchester derby today and i think the reds will come out on top, City beat Arsenal last week but the Gunners deserved a little bit more out of that game and controlled large parts of it and with Adebayor out City look light upfront.
Man Utd
showed that they were in good form against Spurs last week Ferguson will be desperate to win this one.
Inter Milan
are the stand out side in SerieA they showed they could defend vs Barcelona in mid week so today playing more freely away to Cagliari can bag the win. please.
Man Utd 4/7 + Inter Milan 8/13 – £6.00 win double.

Carling Cup on the box tonight with Leeds taking on Liverpool, a tough game for both sides I’m having a first goalscorer bet on Liverpool’s
Fabio Aurelio
who should start this although you never know with Benitez. The game could turn out to be a bit of a battle so any free kicks around the box expect Aurelio to be on the scene.
Fabio Aurelio 1st goalscorer 20/1 – £2.00 each way 1/3 odds 5 places.

September 23, 2009 at 01:41 #249736Nathan, alot of your bets seem to be on leeds united. Are you a leeds fan or is it that leeds are too good for league 1 this season?
September 23, 2009 at 11:53 #249794Hi Woyd,
no I’m not a Leeds fan. I thought Leeds were certain for promotion last season and they didn’t go up so i wouldn’t be the best judge to say whether they were too good for league 1 or not. It would surprise me however if they failed this time around with the start they have had and the squad of players at their disposal. I’ve bet on them so far because of the good run they are on, plus the home games against Stockport and Gillingham for me is like when Liverpool play Hull only 1/3 and 1/2 odds compared to Liverpool’s 1/6.

Notts County
look a different team from week to week beating everyone out of sight at home apart from the local derby with Burton but really struggling away with three defeats on the road on the bounce.
Lee Hughes
the same 7 goals at home none away. They are at home this weekend to Port Vale so I’m following the system that this will end in a home win with Hughes to hit the net, first goal would be nice. The in form side
Bristol Rovers
have caught the eye in recent matches moving up to third in league 1 after three wins on the spin, at home to Brighton will be looking to keep their good run going.

Liverpool are away to Italian side Fiorentina tomorrow night in the Champions League looking to make it 2 from 2 in that competition.
Torres
and
Gerrard
both taken off early vs Hull will be looking to continue their good goalscoring record for the club in European football, Torres in fine form with 5 goals in 2 games and Gerrard always a danger with long range shots, runs from deep, free kicks and penaltys. Liverpool’s defensive game has been a little shaky at times this season but has normally been solid in past season’s and will get better. It could be a tight game but overall I think Liverpool could edge it.

October 2, 2009 at 05:09 #251217Liverpool looked a good bet for the win before I learned that Mascherano and Benayoun were to miss the game through injury – they’ve been huge for the pool so far this season, and were always going to be missed.
Sevilla were seriously over-priced at 11/10 to whack Rangers though IMO, but not so much as a hint of after timing here though

I think Tottenham are a steel (evens) at Bolton on Saturday.
October 2, 2009 at 16:22 #251270Mascherano was a loss, midfield was empty with Aurelio and Lucas giving not much support for defence or attack. Benayoun did play (apparently) but i don’t recall him touching the ball. Liverpool were took apart in the first half down the flanks aswell as the middle.
Good luck with Spurs Onthesteal, they should be odds on.

Notts County have plenty of decent strikers in their squad Luke Rodgers scored a hat-trick in mid week and they have recently signed former Premiership player Ade Akinbiyi who will be a handful with his power and gives an aerial option, but it’s
Lee Hughes
who i like scoring for fun when at home but yet to hit the net away maybe the extra competition for places will inspire him when on the travels plus he takes the penalty’s which is always a bonus. Cheltenham will be tough but i fancy Notts to score at some stage.
Lee Hughes 1st goalscorer 9/2 – £2.50 each way 1/3 odds 5 places.

It was a bit boring last weekend twiddling my thumbs waiting for Lee Hughes name to pop up as a goalscorer to no avail so with no Premiership or Championship games this weekend I’m betting on all the games in league’s 1+2 with a correct score of
2-2
for each. Aaronizneez used a similar system when the correct score competition was going and it was surprising how many games in the lower leagues produced the goals. 19 games in total at 50p a pop, need two for a profit. Should be fun just need to remember to check the results as will be glued to watching Somerset make their debut in the Champions league.

50p singles 2-2 correct scores in all league 1 & 2 matches. 19 games total staked £9.50

October 16, 2009 at 20:32 #253649Liverpool’s defence this season has been a bit suspect to say the least and with Gerrard and Torres ruled out of the trip to Sunderland the 7’s and 9’s for
Darren Bent
and
Kenwyne Jones
to hit the net 1st looks better value opposed to if Gerrard and Torres were playing. plus a look at the table would suggest Liverpool need the points and it could lead to an open game and chances.
Darren Bent 1st goalscorer 7/1 – £2.00 each way

Leeds take on Norwich on Monday night and although Leeds have been a bit quiet in recent weeks they still remain unbeaten at home and I’m going to chuck a couple quid on a correct score that they find their shooting boots and with Beckford in the team their is always the smell of goals around the corner. 3-0 is 12/1 but being a greedy pig i prefer the extra goal at 40/1.

Going away to Chelsea is difficult at the best of times and Blackburn visit the Bridge off the back of some of the team going down with some kind of virus. Chelsea hit 4 in mid week and i fancy them to hit a few in this match and
Michael Ballack
will be the man I’m entrusted to do the business.
Sunday sees Liverpool take on Manchester United and defending corners has continued to frustrate Liverpool yet again this season and
Nemanja Vidic
always looks a threat from set piece situations.
Manchester City take on Fulham also Sunday and I like
Shaun Wright-Phillips
who is capable in my opinion of getting more goals then he does. It could be a tight game and it might take a bit of flair to unlock Fulham and this lad has it or if City score early then the game will open up and Wright Phillips is good in counter attack situations.
Michael Ballack to score 1st goal 9/1 £1.00 each way
Nemanja Vidic to score 1st goal 25/1 £1.00 each way
Shaun Wright Phillips to score 1st goal 12/1 £1.00 each wayall at 1/3 odds 5 places.
