Rather strange preview by my friend Mr TD today at:
http://www.nigeltwistondavies.co.uk/TodaysRunners.html
He clearly has 4 good chances going to Lingfield but only mentions two of them. BALI BOY was 2/1 second fav at 2.30 and was a disappointing distant 4th – NTD must have known something.
However the well touted seconditus GRENFELL finished in her familiar position at 3.00 – long time now since sole bumper win
What of odds on ROWDY YEATS – not too keen on softer ground
or GEMINI AHHS (5.15) and worthy of a mention – i reckon this will go in however
Come on Nige – give everything a mention in future – surely a one off error i hope – keep banging in the winners and good luck at Bangor on Sat !
October 11, 2007 at 15:33 #118994having quickly looked at the card for Bangor on Saturday he doesn’t seem to have many runners, so it’s back to the drawing board for me…..
October 11, 2007 at 15:59 #118999Indeed looks like main focus is on the money at Chepstow which will be much more competitive i would say
However NEZ ROUGE looked like a future winner last time and is entered up at both Welsh tracks.
More great race planning eh having Bangor and Chepstow on same day…old chestnut that one
October 11, 2007 at 16:44 #119003Well, Bangor is in North Wales and some still believe that Chepstow and Monmouthshire are in England……….whatever they are some way distant from each other………about 3 1/2 hours by public transport.

October 11, 2007 at 18:00 #119014I thought his interview with Jim Mcgrath on ATR today was quite good, more or less said that he tries to have his horse’s ready early in the season, because he cant compete with the big yards(apart from his class horse’s)
he talked about his first two runners today but not a lot about the last two, Mcgrath seemed keen on Rowdy Yeats but I don’t remember Davis saying a lot about him( a shame as he went on to win) he did say that Gemini Ahhs was the one he lest fancied today(came third)

Yep, exactly the same reasoning he gave in interview at Rasen a week last Saturday (see other threads), so nobody can accuse him of being either inconsistent nor secretive where his string’s strengths and weaknesses lie.

October 12, 2007 at 08:56 #119111fair play – acknowledgement on site today – more winners for the team tomorrow hopefully with the excellent Paddy Brennan and David England back from injury
Friday 12th October
Firstly, apologies for inadvertently leaving out a couple of runners yesterday! Brain storm!
No runners for us today but plenty entered tomorrow.
October 12, 2007 at 15:01 #119189Fair play to Mr. Twiston-Davies indeed. Is he a TRF lurker perhaps?
October 20, 2007 at 14:42 #120648In fantastic form still at the moment, 5 winners in the last 2 days at Cheltenham, fantastic ride from Paddy Brenan on Knowhere, came from literally nowhere to beat Bob Hall and Maljimar on the line.
Really does know how to get his string in decent form in the earlier parts of the season.
October 21, 2007 at 08:59 #120731Indeed so, and to that end I’m very content to row in with PEN GWEN on his UK debut at Hereford this afternoon (3.35), particularly given he’ll be in receipt of a stone from market rival Warrior Drive if David England claims all his 5lb.

…………’twould be nice if he could then go on to win one or two races with them through the rest of the season!!
