My formative years were spent in Sheffield and every schoolboy whether they were partial to soccer or not just had to support one of the city’s two teams. I chose Wednesday because they had a strange name, were higher in the league, had the better ground, and wore royal blue, which other than green is my favourite colour
So naturally I hated every last thing about United and their silly nickname (actually good and apposite for Steel City) of The Blades…
…but privately all we Owlers knew that the Blades had two damn good players – Alan Woodward and Len Badger both of whom never won any international caps but should have done

Hey Drone didn’t Badger Wood run a cracking race, jumping out to his left at the fences made it even more impressive. The 11’s didn’t last sp 13/2. I had Badger Wood and Rock the Kashbar as the 1st two legs of the scoop but Fingal Bay let me down for the jackpot and the next leg saw the place part of it sink, never mind at least the Badger won I bet young badger face Billion would be up for this system.
