Had 7 runners in Thurles during the week and three already today beaten comfortably. I know they weren’t the top horses he has but shaneshill , morning run and a couple during the week were fairly disappointing. We also heard over the last couple of weeks that both arctic fire and Morning Run had been suffering with infections. Food for thought

Thought the same myself or maybe everyone is over rating his horses as they don’t beat much in Ireland and there is a lot more depth in England. Certainly makes Cheltenham more interesting. Shame Djackadam didn’t stand up to see how good Smad Place is when front running.

I gladly backed limini once I saw it was nearly evens. Shaneshill just doesn’t look comfortable jumping fences but expected a better show and Morning Run I think was overrated alright and was disappointing today. Up for review again was disappointing despite not backing it I did really fancy the horse after his previous performance. Djackadam looked to be jumping and travelling nicely until the fall but there is just something in my mind that there is something wrong with some of the yard.

Mullins was doing exceptionally well, yes he was “in form” but most of those horses had form to win anyway and it was partly coincidence. He then got a lot of hype which made a lot of his horses shorter than their actual chance. Now people are surprised a few hyped horses have lost. Also, Djakadam’s fall had nothing to do with Mullins “form”.

Again Nathan I thought evens was a fantastic price and I gladly cashed in. My point being that even if the Mullins horses were slightly off Felix should still have had enough to beat that field, in relation to myska he said that the horse seemed to get a fright and choke up when a lump of mud got caught in her windpipe. He said the three horses that went to Doncaster didn’t travel as well as they hoped and the got a bit cold apparently, coupled with the fact that shaneshill was running at the wrong distance, morning run is probably a bit overrated and upforreview tried to go toe to toe with barters hill despite not travelling over the best means I would reassess my original suggestion that Mullins is out of form. In hindsight I think he just had an unlucky weekend. And even with the bad luck he won a maiden comfortably with the O Leary horse, limini cruised home and battleford was reasonably impressive on debut.

Was bemused by Myska’s run so that explains a few things.

Mullins says he believes his Doncaster runners ‘might have caught a chill’ on the ferry. Townend reported Shaneshill flat out all the way, and UTR beaten far too far out for it to be his form. I wonder if those two might end up the best value of WM team now

Steeple I was thinking that myself. Might be a bit of value with shaneshill in the JLT or RSA and certainly value on upforreview as barters hill although unbeaten looks beatable. A 100/1 shot wasn’t too far behind him in Doncaster
