Went to Market Rasen yesterday, and had a great day, the sun was out, the course looked, fabulous, a decent crowd assembled and to cap it all, a long time favourite, Mr Wiseman at the age of 13 romped home, for his 6th success there. The horse comes alive at Rasen in the spring, he galloped fence to fence and simply enjoyed himself, a great sight.
Anyone else have a favourite one course specialist, not necessarily a top horse but one that lifts the heart.
March 23, 2015 at 17:30 #861078Good ol’ General Tufto at Southwell. Sometimes he has a going day and sometimes he just can’t be arsed, but I love to cheer him on.
I'd like to live in a place where they cordon off swans...March 25, 2015 at 12:12 #867146Another one of my favourites is Jonnie Skull, a standing dish at Yarmouth and then pops up occasionally over hurdles and wins. He’s grumpy if taken on, but give him a lead and watch him go, He’s had 194 starts 19 wins 40 placings recently won a seller at Fakenham and there were no bids at £3000, has to be a brilliant syndicate horse even at 9 years of age.
