Or there is this classic episode of Minder (S4 E4 Sorry Pal, Wrong Number)!:

That was fascinatingly mental in equal measure
December 12, 2017 at 22:20 #1331786Could be an interesting discussion though.
GT or others – what sort of deal would you offer somebody to be your runner and get bets on for you?
Nothing, LS. If someone was putting on money for me the person would be providing a service for me and I would be providing a service for him/her. That person can choose how much he/she wants to put on for him/herself.
If deciding to sell tips then it would only be for a small amount.
Value Is EverythingDecember 12, 2017 at 22:41 #1331788I see what you mean GT but I’m not sure that would sell it to many potential runners if you were ever desperate to get one. Perhaps you’d make a sell to a TRFer who knows what a consistent winning beast you are, but otherwise you’d probably need to offer a little cheese. You’d probably have to stop posting the Gingertipster gold for free here too!
I know people who have paid £250 up front for a ‘clean’ Bet365 account and view it as a good investment. I know a couple of pro punters who have different ongoing deals with their runners. One gives 1.5% cashback on all stakes the runner manages to get laid online or in shop (high turnover punter, 20+ fixed odds bets per day on average). Another offers 5% of all winnings.
Knowing what is feasible for a decent winner (12-15% long term ROI, expenses including TurfTV feed, rented office, speed figures subscription, Timeform, RP Members Club & ProForm), Mr Beaumont’s 15% offer is blatantly a scam. Nobody could afford that.
