Hi everyone,
I received a letter from a Mr Beaumont offering 15% commission win or lose when placing bets on his behalf.
it all sounds too good to be true and just wondering if anyone else has received this letter or similar? Many thanks.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 11, 2017 at 12:16 #1331600Apparently, he’s Paul Beaumont of Beaumont Tips and he can’t get his bets on cos he wins too much, so he uses proxies. I’d love to know how he got my name & address.
December 11, 2017 at 12:37 #1331602Ask him if he’s ever heard of Betfair
December 11, 2017 at 12:46 #1331605It’s obvious that he’s gambling off other people’s money. If the bet wins, then the proxy gives him 85% of the profit but if the bet loses, you’d never hear from him again – lol.
Does it qualify as a scam?December 11, 2017 at 13:56 #1331613lol @ 15% win or lose
100% this is a scam – old Mr Beaumont might have caught a few suckers if he’d been more realistic.
December 11, 2017 at 15:07 #133162015% is far too much to be paying. Very few gamblers would make that in a season.
I had a similar letter, could even be the same chap. Vaguely remember some check racing colours (may be blue or green) in the heading?
Sympathise with someone not being able to get on. I often see a big price on oddschecker when the Early Prices first come through in the evening before the race (when there’s little or no liquidity in exchanges) and wish I could take it. Then, by the time liquidity increases the price has shortened considerably. When you’re a “form” backer the best prices are imo early. ie Although “on form” a horse may have gone out to what may look a value price nearer off time, often markets gets to know those that won’t run to form – so aren’t “value”. Therefore, it’s not as easy as saying “get on betfair” (although it obviously helps). Frustrating, so can understand either selling tips or getting others to put money on and charging comission. But not at that rate.
Bin it.

Those stats are for 2011-13. Looks like the site packed up and he’s now making money out of other punters.

GT or others – what sort of deal would you offer somebody to be your runner and get bets on for you?
