I think Iris’s Gift and Neptune Collonges are both resolute gallopers that are going to prove best racing prominently when the mud is flying.

I know the ‘experts’ are down-grading last years 3mile novice chasers, but my favourite video race is last seasons Sun Alliance Chase, where he was brilliant.

October 18, 2006 at 18:36 #80171I am happy to be against both the novice chase winners at last year’s Festival, particularly Star de Mohasion. Both were just 5 yo’s in receipt of weight and neither was actually the best horse at the weights in either of the contests they won. Arguably Racing Demon, Foreman and Monet’s Garden have form that is better than either the Ogden pair has run to so far.
I thought Foreman got a very average ride in the Arkle (not as average as my mate thought who was on at 210 on betfair), held up further than ideal in a race little got into and he seemed to reverse form at Aintree with Voy Pour Estedas seeming to have little excuse. There’ll be no place for VPE to hide from his mark and with his reputation I think he’ll startat eminently opposable prices in races like the Haldon Gold Cup/Tingle Creek when he reappears.
Am looking far more to seeing Newmill and think he’ll retain his crown. These sound-jumping front-runners at the minimum trip are a joy to watch. As to regards his pure ability, how many Champion Chase contenders would you fancy to get within 6 lengths of Brave Inca?
