“With an eye on this and the Turners, the Moscow Flyer tomorrow is one of the worst renewals I’ve ever seen.”
I agree with MarkTT’s scathing assessment of the race. It’s rubbish.
Road Exile is fav; he can be forgiven for getting beaten at Down Royal when Elliott’s horses weren’t fit, but he didn’t finish close and he didn’t look like a superstar when beating an unfit Copacabana, who probably needs further anyway.
I’ve put a token bet on Sober. He hurdled badly on debut but probably had next to no schooling and hopefully will be better this time. He has won on heavy and good and his age may help as physically he’s the finished article.
Most interested in Free Spirit but not backed him as unknown quantity and, being the youngest and least experienced, might be here for educational purposes.

January 11, 2026 at 23:32 #1750183Road Exile wants another half a mile and in a normal year I’d be interested in him for the Turners but that could be one of the hottest races of the Spring – No Drama has been good but there’s plenty of decent horses in behind him in the market and the Classic on trials day should be an informative race
