Round two today,
TS confident about Moon Racers chances and with the win last time I’m a little surprised about the price gap.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
November 13, 2016 at 11:52 #1272435I thought Moon Racer won with something in hand last time and it’s encouraging that he appears to have been problem-free. I think he’ll win today and am even tempted to risk an ante-post bet for The Supreme!
BTW, Skybet offer money back (free bet) if 2nd in today’s race up to £25.
November 13, 2016 at 12:59 #1272464Yep, good call Joe, I thought they had the odds the wrong way around.
Good start to the dayGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
November 13, 2016 at 13:05 #1272466I didn’t have a penny on, but he didn’t do my Stable Stars comp any harm
November 13, 2016 at 13:06 #1272468Yep, nice one, Nathan. Well done. Snagged a wee bit of 95 for Champion Hurdle and took 12s for Supreme pre-race though not with total confidence given his history. But we still haven’t seen the best of him. Let’s hope he remains sound.
BTW I just have a niggling doubt about his jumping, though a faster pace might help that, but I’d be a bit nervy watching him if I’d had a right few quid on.
November 13, 2016 at 13:16 #1272472Didn’t have a penny on the race, but it confirms to me Ryan Hatch is not up to the job at Twister’s. Take a look at how these two horses won their Champion bumpers. Trying to outsprint Moonracer with the comparitive stayer Ballyandy today was stupid. By that, am not suggesting Ballyandy would have won – am saying Hatch did not maximise his chance, in fact I believe he minimised it.
Value Is EverythingNovember 13, 2016 at 13:38 #1272475It seems to me looking at that race (and I backed ballyandy- with the way I’m running it had no chance) that moon racer is a natural jumper of a hurdle and ballyandy isn’t. Ballyandy was losing ground at pretty much every obstacle which the commentator only seemed to pick up on late on.
I take your point ginger about the slow pace being against it but the way the twiston davies camp were hyping this up before the race you’d think the horse was the second coming- Sam Twiston Davies even by jockey standards is a horrible tipster- and even allowing for the slow pace I don’t see how they can view that as anything but desperately disappointing.
And I had to laugh when I saw in the paper earlier that the trainer was “Bullish”- is he ever anything but?
November 13, 2016 at 13:54 #1272478To be fair, Ballyandy has not shown anywhere near what he can do, didn’t jump as well and had oxygen afterwards.
Value Is EverythingNovember 13, 2016 at 22:28 #1272554Bit of a boost for the Scottish scene from Mirsaale who stuck to his task admirably once passed.

I think that’s harsh. Sam Twiston Davies said before the race that BallyAndy was a speed horse who needed to be produced with one run. I must admit he didn’t look like that today but if that’s what connections thought then that’s how Hatch would have been instructed to ride him.
I would agree about Mirscale, an excellent run.
