Who knows when racing will resume and because of the unknown I have decided to almost empty my accounts with: –

Paddy Power/BetVictor/SkyBet/Wm. Hill/BetFred/Coral/Ladbrokes & Unibet. Whilst at it I decided to close BetFair, leaving a workable amount with bet365 for as long as there is racing in Australia.

Millions of pounds have been lost as the stock market goes into free fall and I would be kicking myself should any of these companies go into administration or become bankrupt whist holding my money.

Maybe I am too cautious but it is better to be safe rather than sorry.

Not at all Bill. I have £60+ in Betting slips at home which I will be collecting from my local Ladbrokes on Saturday (presumably they will be open for the FOBT gamblers  ).

At present you are protected for up to £85K invested in any recognised bank so if you have over this amount in one bank I would move to another FCA regulated bank. If due to the circumstances this should reduce to say Nil I would withdraw all funds immediately and hide under your bed B-)

By comparison what I have withdrawn is very small indeed but nevertheless it has always represented the means to enjoy my hobby and will again I hope in the future.

I simply feel I am the better custodian of it during these most turbulent times and don’t wish to lose it through no fault of my own or have to face a long battle for recovery.

    Stay safe.

I’m very pleased that billion withdrew whatever he had in his accounts
at least his family can use the funds rather than the bookies taking it via the t@c’s on dormant accounts
    well done old chum.. :good:

If you don’t use your account some bookies will take a percentage from your balance for “servicing” it!

I always empty my account after a large enough win. Better in my pocket than theirs, however because the was no racing in first lockdown Paddy who I generally bet with seems to have closed my account. Slightly annoyed but have other bookies to bet with.

You've got to accentuate the positive.
    Eliminate the negative.
    Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.
