Formally with Andrew Balding (ran in German Derby and concubines Vase at Royal Ascot) and was recently bought by Old Gold Racing and put into training with Nicky Henderson for a juvenile hurdling campaign.
Not one of mine but a running friend had a share and let me know the following…
“Mina contracted an infection in his left stifle joint. He was being treated by the vets at Donnington Grove, which is considered amongst the finest equine practices in the world, and with whom he underwent two arthroscopic procedures under full anaesthetic and prolonged antibiotic, systemic and intraarticular treatment. Worse, because of the pain on his left side, Mina overcompensated on his right foot, causing supporting sinking laminitis Sadly, despite being cautiously optimistic following the surgery and improvements to Mina’s condition, it was found that the infection had spread and his condition deteriorated rapidly . This meant that on Monday afternoon Nicky Henderson, phoned to recommend euthanasia on humane grounds. Further to the physical and clinical problems, the poor horse was in pain and distressed and it was kindest to act as promptly as possible. - AuthorPosts
