    Thankfully we left just before that race. Heard when we got back that racing had been delayed and feared the worst. RIP

    Sadly we knew the worst when the tractor hauled wagon set off up the course. They mark it ‘Horse Ambulance’ but it’s known that a tractor doesn’t haul a rescued horse.

    Only won one race in her 31 race career, but not out of the first 3 in her last eight races prior to this run. RIP

    Looking at her race record she seemed like a genuine mare and was quite fancied today. At least she had a jockey with her who knew her well; just a small thing I know but a shred of comfort.
