If Gareth Barry is worth £14m, then McGeady must be £20m
By the way, with all this talk of exciting football speculation, how come no-one has discussed the thrilling management opportunity that has suddenly become vacant at Walsall?

Rijkaard could be availible soon Andrew.

OK, £5m then and not a penny more, cheap at half the price…

ps. Friggo – nice one!

He’d have to learn to work within a budget. Mind you, there is the attraction of the Sunday market. And those ‘Sportsmans Dinners’ at the Bonser Suite are reasonably priced, so we may have a chance, though to be honest Frank Spencer is probably more up our street.

Totally agree with you on your manager Peter. I can sympothise with the owner for wanting success for Manchester City, but after one year and in hindsight of what Kevin Keegan has said did he seriously expect you lot to finish in the champions league positions this year? Man City is a big club and it’s up to the owner to replace Sven if he thinks there’s a better man for the job, but if he does replace him and it all goes pair shaped Martin Jol style it’s your club that is going to suffer.Give Sven more money to buy players and strengthen your defence and see where it takes you I say.
Before the season began, the expectations of the team were
07/08 Top 10 finish
08/09 UEFA Cup entry
09/10 Top 4Sven was a victim of his own success at the start of the season as the Thai directors "raised the bar" and the relative slump in the second half of the season was perceived as failure.
The other alarming thing about all this is the likelihood of the remaining British directors jumping/being pushed and the Thai’s being the only voice on the board.
May 9, 2008 at 21:01 #162541Looks like Man City might get a UEFA Cup place through the fair play league, dont expect them to make many tackles on sunday then.
Pete what are the chances of Micah Richards leaving City this summer?Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

Pete what are the chances of Micah Richards leaving City this summer?Despite Dunnie getting sent off we had enough credits in the bank to maintain our place in the FPL. Think we are in the UEFA Cup but what happens next is quite another matter. This is likely to be one of the biggest summers in the stormy history of this club and we could "do a Leeds" if the wrong decisions are made.
Chances of Richards going;
Nowhere 60%
Gooners 30%
Rags 10%May 22, 2008 at 20:52 #164861By the way, with all this talk of exciting football speculation, how come no-one has discussed the thrilling management opportunity that has suddenly become vacant at Walsall?
Walsall have appointed Jimmy Mullen as manager, this must mean that Rijkaard is holding out in case the Chelsea job becomes availible.

June 14, 2008 at 16:37 #168368While the eyes of the footballing world are on Euro 2008 the transfer market slackens off for a while but get ready for a huge bang in a couple of weeks.
Very Likely Deals
Quaresma > Liverpool
Berbatov > Barca/Man U
Nasri > Arsenal
Jo > Man City
C Samba > Man CityD Villa will be the subject of a bidding war.
Liverpool and Spurs want him but if Chelsea and Barca enter the fray (likely) they will not able to compete.Crouch will leave almost certainly for Portsmouth,
Most of these WILL happen.
